Even if Microsoft and Sony both charged $600 for whatever they come up with, the hardware would still be behind in terms of most ideal modern performance for high quality graphics + physics + resolution + additional features.
In other words, I wish it was possible for "next-gen" consoles to have the TBA Ivy Bridge-E i7-3930, TBA OC 3Gb GDDR5 8970 or OC 3GB GDDR5 GTX 780 equivalent and 64GB of at least 1866Mhz 9-10-9-28 RAM and at least a 1TB high end SSD.

HOPES it runs well on my PC.
DREAMS of a smart & fun story that runs well on my PC.
FEARS it wont run well on my PC.

More breaking news by way of N4G.
"Here! Here! Latest and greatest multi-million dollar video game has bugs and glitches."
"In other news, the vast majority of Playstation 3's are black."
Or any just generally good movie, for that matter. Take more risks, Hollywood! Why is it okay for us to risk our $35 - $60 to watch, but not okay for you to risk your $300 million to produce!? lol.
Be nice, I was joking about that part! :(
You are delusional to assume anything about the 720/PS4 at this point. :p
Besides, PS2 to PS3 was not that major of an update.
640x480i to 1280x720p both for the most part always at around 30fps is hardly a giant leap.
PS2 Bandwidth = 3.2GB/s pushing 680x480i @ 30fps
PS3 Bandwidth = 35GB/s pushing 1280x720 @ 30fps
PS4 Bandwidth = 300GB/s pushing 1680x1050 @ 30fps (If we're lucky)

The first half of this episode alone is better than many entire full budget action features. I believe with a more mature cast as well as an even higher budget it could easily surpass titanic films like Alien (1979) and Avatar (2009), at least in terms of terror. The sound design is among the best I've ever heard; everything sounds so real and intimidating (even through YouTube—WTF, right!?). Disregarding the "me too" post lens flares, everything about the cinematography & l...

Wish it was coming to PC.
Yaaawn.
Played the 360 demo for the first time last night (would have preferred a PC demo, but there isn't one as far as I know); it's a far cry from old school Resident Evil horror, but as a shooter, aside from the incredibly claustrophobic FOV, is pretty satisfying.
I just want to know how after all those years you aren't desensitized.

Wrong. I want to play it on PC.
I just wish were mastered in 1080p, not 720p.
If 3 terabyte SSDs were the cheap norm and the world had equally fast internet, I'd be all for this; though the technology just isn't there yet and I for one still love having a physical copy of all my movies, games, books, etc.
I'll bite, but only because Kojima Productions is throwing the bait.
As if Black Ops is a highly advanced, never-before-seen anti-modding program.
This is a big deal because this wasn't an Uncharted 1 to 2 leap in fidelity; this looks more like a generational leap in fidelity.
