@Iamnsuperman You should probably look into pixel density per square inch.
Hell, watch The Dark Knight rises on Blu-ray using a high end calibrated monitor in ideal viewing conditions. It was filmed mostly in about 4k digital resolution and about an hour is 65mm iMax film telecined to digital which is equal to about 8k video, yes 8k. That's why iMax looks so amazing and costs so much more. It makes a very noticeable difference on any sized screen even if it's native ...
Skyrim has started a bow and arrow epidemic. I love it!
"Children are killing the bad guys. The thrill of the kill is right there in front of their face."
WTF? That is not why damn near anyone—-kids or adults play games. Even though he is being somewhat reasonable, this still proves these people don't understand the medium. Not every game is about killing. Some games-—including the latest freaking HITMAN game in fact hurt your score if you kill. Why are these people so thick and ignorant?
I doubt it is poorly optimized even at this point in development; there is a lot of information to process running a game that looks like that. Damn miracle it runs at all, show a little respect for the hard work & sacrifice the developers put in to make it happen in any form.
Anyway, I totally noticed the frame drops, but it wasn't bad considering everything that was going on behind how it looks.
You made a little rhyme out of your comment which in one way or another reminded me of Dr. Suess. You are obviously just Mr. Kubrick though.
Is it Kurbrick or Dr. Suess?
Ready to ignore them for a little while while I use my perfectly capable gaming/video editing rig.
@WET, It doesn't have to go up against Crysis 3 maxed out on a PC because either way, and I'm pretty sure it's hardly very subjective The Last of Us looks technically incredible.
Metro Last Light, battlefield 4, Last of Us.
Now I'm all for pushing technology as much as possible, but c'mon Cevat, a little humbleness never hurt anyone.
The Last of Us looks incredible and on just PS3! You don't hear Naughty Dog bragging about it every chance they get and look at the praise, awards and nominations they've already achieved!
Doesn't mean anything.
Searching just, "Playstation" is ranked #6 world wide for 2012.
Except for the rocks. Crysis 1 rocks look terrible at times, but the water, vegetation, and physics look consistently superior when set to Very High.
Far Cry 3 has better rocks, fire, gun models, character models, and vehicle handling. Plus you can freaking fly (err, glide with style). Far Cry 3 also has the better story and is a lot more fun than Crysis 1 or 2 overall. The plants in Far Cry 3 are a lot stiffer and there are no destructible structures. The water is also relat...
and Crysis 1 PC looks better than FarCry 3 PC and Crysis 2 PC; can't speak for Crysis 3 yet for obvious reasons.
Is there a Pro Res 4:4:4 version of this like there is for the trailers on the official website?
Try changing max GPU frame buffer to 1. That should work with or without Vsync on. Also, make sure Vsync is on 1 frame, if you have it on at all.
Turn off MSAA as well.
Yeah, sorry, I was worried about that. Damn inter-webs. I was being sarcastic, but in a friendly way. :)
+1 Intelligent bubble for you!
This game is going to be Godly.
Mod? More like, "A few simple changes to basic things." I can get the same results by changing the sharpness and hue/saturation values of my calibrated monitor!
Imagine how proud they must feel to be so good at their craft? Man, I can only dream of being such a master of something..
Modern high end GPUs can certainly handle 4k gaming at playable frame rates. Though for 60fps+ with demanding games, you'll need multiple high end GPUs and to lower some graphical settings.
