1920x1080p/30f is far more acceptable than 1280x720p/60f.
Except maybe in texture quality, these new Killzone graphics easily equal and in some ways surpass Crysis 3 on a Very High PC.
By the way, Crysis 3 on PC low doesn't look so different than it does on Very High such as the difference between low and high in Crysis 1 which is massive.
All aboard the hype train! This got me thinking though, if BF3 on PC maxed with 4xMSAA @ 1080p runs just within 60 - 100FPS, how will BF4 run on the same rig? Uh oh, will probably need to upgrade or use lower graphical settings on PC titles with the advent of new consoles.
Even Crysis 3 at Very High with no AA at 1080p dips to the low 30's at times with an i7-3930k @ 4.3GHz, 16GB DDR3 @ 1866MHz and a single Radeon 7970GHz edition. To run Crysis 3 perfectly V-Synced at nev...
And Crytek said it would take up to two years for any game to match Crysis 3 maximum PC visuals. I am able to play Crysis 3 on PC at very high with solid frames and this footage even through YouTube is easily in the same league as high end PC visuals.
I'm going to save around $600 to buy the console and maybe two games. Just..can't..resist.
The Radeon HD 7970 has 3GB of GDDR5 capable of 264Gb/s, 3.79TFLOPs, 32 CUs, 2048 Stream Processors, and all that's not even the GHz edition. That 3GB of GDDR5 RAM by the way is for just the GPU——it isn't shared memory.
[PS4 will have similar to a Radeon HD 7850, 1.84TFLOPs, 18 CUs, 1152 stream processors, 176GB/s memory bandwidth]
PCs use dedicated DDR3 (DDR4 en route) system ram up to 64GB (excluding server stations) at very fast speeds of up to 213...

In the words of Niko Belic, "This time, things will be different."
I actually have a pacemaker and am now saddened.
@Dasteru
That's all great, but the reason consoles can stand a chance is due to optimization——it can't be stressed enough. Even if PS4 comes equipped with a mobile 7850 or 7950 equivalent, that's still a big improvement over the PS3's GPU and with years of optimizations and shortcuts, will be able to render amazing looking games. PC gaming is only ever superior through sheer brute force, not necessarily clever programming and thorough optimization. Why do you ...
Yeah talk about fizzling out, right?
Metal Gear Solid 4 in native 1080p and high res textures all around. Oh my..
I am hoping for at least the equivalent of 1080p Crysis 1 on Very High PC settings and at best quality that matches the latest 3D Mark Fire Strike demo.
Than he is worse than cancer.
Dang. I remember these popping up during the PS2 > PS3 transition. Won't be long now before PS4 is all old, slow and dusty. Not that my PS3 is dusty.
If it has nothing to do with clearing up that ending, it's going to be very hard for me to maintain any real interest toward whatever else it could be.
Awesome, just hope it is created using the engine as apposed to being pre-rendered.
I am fairly new to DMC. What is so bad about the new one? Is it as grim as Resident Evil 6 compared to what Resident Evil 1 and 0 were on Gamecube? The DMC demo was pretty interesting; wouldn't say it's off to a terrible start.
I totally agree 4k won't take off for a very good while, but everything about screen size, resolution and the noticeable difference is not true at all. A 50" at 1920x1080 has 47.89 pixels per inch. A 50" at 3840x2860 has 104.9 pixels per inch. More than twice the amount of pixels in the same area. I'd bet anyone who isn't blind as a bat could tell that difference—-especially with real time games.
It's all relative though. So of course an 80" at ...
65mm iMax film is equivalent to 8k digital and it's certainly noticeable on any sized screen.
I have my own very fast PC and can play Crysis 3 maxed out with solid frame rates, it is in my opinion that the new Killzone footage looks at least as good as Crysis 3 does maxed out--even through YouTube.
