GTAV, Half-Life/Left 4 Dead/Team Fortress 3 and Bioshock Infinite? Really? You do realize those were probably the only shooters NOT like Call of Duty we had any chance of seeing, right? Battlefield, Medal of Honor, Overstrike (probably), BlOps2, Bad Company 3 (rumored) and Halo 4 (and all the CoD features 343 is adding to it) are all still going to make (and likely dominate unfortunately) the show.
Just out of curiosity, what are you looking forward to at E3 that makes the...
Haha, I thought the same thing. Action/Adventure does not equal Space Combat (Tie Fighter/X-Wing) or Large-Scale Shooter (Battlefront), and like that they've lost me. =P
I know this show only by its being referenced in Hellsing Ultimate on Youtube, lol. Hope its a fun game for the fans.
I've never been a huge fan of the series, so my opinion isn't worth anything on this, but I was curious if fans were really excited about this game after all the semi-sequels? Not trying to troll here, I just haven't heard much fanfare for this one and wondered if they'd burnt people out or if I just hadn't been reading the right message boards.
@jrbeerman11, this is true, though I'm less worried about that. Zenimax published Rage, Hunted, and Brink in addition to Skyrim in the last year, and they're publishing Dishonored this year alongside plans for an Elder Scrolls MMO. If they run out of funds, they'll probably cut off some of their new IP plans and push that money into Fallout and Elder Scrolls.
I'm not buying it either (can't get into MMO's; tried a lot, failed a lot), but just fyi, Zenimax Online is developing. Bethesda is doing its own projects (probably Skyrim DLC and Fallout 4 imo), and this is a new dev working on the MMO. It's the same parent company as Bethesda (Zenimax), but Bethesda isn't doing anything for this game as far as they've announced. Hopefully that means this will have nil effect on the single player titles (but I've been wrong bef...
Hehe, I saw that and thought this:
Why update for free? Because they're awesome! I mean, they may have reasons for being awesome, but it mostly boils down to that I'd say.
I'm crossing my fingers for something involving grilled ham and cheese. I keep expecting these new consoles to have a feature that makes sandwiches, but each E3 leaves me more pessimistic about this dream. Mark my words though, if any of the big 3 DO finally step up and deliver on a sandwich front (which based on the rumored specs, they just might!), they will DOMINATE this next generation. An integrated toaster next to the GPU for grilled cheese would annihilate the competition at lau...
How on earth does this have disagrees? Did anyone buy Inafune's jacket? It's a valid question!
It'll do just fine. A big thing to keep in mind is that Notch doesn't follow the typical release strategy of "make it, hype it, sell it." More likely he'll release the alpha to customers the way he did with Minecraft, and he'll craft the game around their feedback as he works his way up to final release quality. Unless he screws it up so bad its unplayable or completely devoid of fun when he releases it, no one will care if its not as polished or complete as Minec...
Its quotes from the Game Informer article; the May issue with the Halo 4 cover.
@ionicmoose lols, you're totally right. Bubble-up vote for you for pointing out my obvious fail. Well, wish I could redact some of THAT comment =P
It's not our right to change the ending. It is our right to voice dissatisfaction with a purchase, refuse future purchases, and disavow our support; its called speaking with your money. We said that's what we'd do if they didn't want to address the ending. They decided it was easier/cheaper to try to please us than to start over with a fresh fanbase.
Why is that bad? Because it messes up their artistic rights? Artists either cater to their client, keep th...
@justpassinggas: I agree with this possibility, but we don't know what the extension actually is yet. It might be a cherry on a turd, or it could be a proper farewell to the series with revelations as to what was going on (Forbes article pointed out they could still go Indoc Theory on this if they wanted its so vague). I just wanted to speak up and recommend patience until we see what it is. A retcon was never in the cards, but explanation and a look at what comes after or why things w...
The English site has an asterisk next to free saying it expires April 12th.

I think you have to buy the game before then and register it to get the content for free since it releases in the summer. Good for me and those that have it, but lol at EA still finding a way to ch...
I don't really want to get in a statistics debate on here, but I'll just go ahead and mention that surveys tend to interview a sample of a population to get a feel for the general consensus. 50k is not a big number in ratio to total units sold. It does appear to be a big number in ratio to those voicing their opinions though. Did some people enjoy the ending? Yes. Are all of them taking to the internet? Of course not. Same goes for the other side though. "Didn't compl...
Lol, that was my thought seeing the article title. "Really? More of an insult than the current ending?"
Well, come back and let us know your opinion when you get there. Maybe the 50k fans are wrong or you can appreciate something we didn't. All thoughts on the subject are welcome. =D
According to 2011 stats, PC is only pirated about 3 times more often than consoles (minus PS3 since its piracy rates were negligible apparently). Considering consoles also have a very strong used market and high console licensing fees, I wonder if they aren't struggling more than the PC market; hmmm, have there been any dramatic attempts to fight the used game market lately that would imply it was impacting sales? Day-one DLC, Online Passes, Subscription based multiplayer services, conso...
