Oh, well what the heck did they sell then? Hopefully something respectable because a) I'd like to see more of this series in the future and b) my first comment above makes no sense if it DIDN'T sell respectably. =P
Hmm, I'm seeing a funny parallel here.
Dead Space 3 releases with respectable numbers but supposedly misses some astronomical target. Riccitiello, EA CEO, announces his resignation a few weeks later citing poor financial performance.
Tomb Raider releases with respectable numbers but misses an astronomical target. Today, a few weeks later, Square Enix announces that CEO Wada will be replaced due to poor financial performance.
I suspect t...
Why leave this bug in when you can set skill levels in debug mode at the push of a button?
Bubble up for that. Thank you.
I've got my eye on Kenshi and Prison Architect myself actually, maybe Arma 3 if I can work up the nerve to try a shooter that in depth.
"...ARG Video Teases Alternate Reality Game"
Redundant title is redundant. =P
I don't think that would work. If what you're describing means the first buyer gets a digital copy forever, then it would be the equivalent of each Steam sale coming with a free copy of the game they could gift to a friend. If the original buyer got to keep playing even after they sold the game, you'd effectively be selling two copies of the game...though now that you mention it, I guess that's what a lot of DVD's and Blu-Rays are doing now, so who knows. Good thought e...
Haha, I got that reference.
The always online aspect is limiting to a subset of the audience (slow/unreliable internet connections, people travelling, etc), but I'm more disappointed by the always multiplayer aspect. I don't have any friends picking up SimCity, and I don't want to make friends online or play with strangers. If I want to play alone, I miss out on regional challenges and am limited to a smaller, more specialized city because I'm supposed to have neighbors with complementary specializatio...
Hope it turns out well. Had something more critical to say, but I'll leave it at that; no reason to add to the negativity of the internet, lol.
Right there with you. Thought it looked spectacular, then heard it might be Kojima and had to write it off as more of the same.
Yeah, I was super excited for this before everyone started saying it was a Kojima troll. Now its just, "oh, more MGS...okay..."
...XCOM Expansion?
...XCOM Expansion!
WOOHOO, XCOM Expansion!
@legend, no seriously, the 3DO! This little old lady whacked me with an umbrella at Walmart when she thought I was going for the last one. Stinks since I was reaching for the Atari anyway, that paranoid old grouch.
Wasn't there an article twenty minutes ago on n4g about them getting back in stock at Walmart.com already?
Less than a year and EA is squeezing another Mass Effect out of Bioware? Well, I guess the loss of the Doctors has taken all friction out of the corporate machine making these decisions. Good luck Bioware, hope your devs work well under horrible schedules and unreasonable expectations, and God help you if your Dragon Age multiplayer and Mass Effect Facebook integration app don't keep up with whatever numbers Call of Duty draws when you release; that's the only true way to measure su...
They won't; as hardware gets older, it drops in price. That means last year's $1000 gaming PC is likely half that price today. I think the article is more stressing the fact that more expensive hardware in a console equals a more expensive console. One of the biggest perks of console gaming is the cheap hardware, but if platform developers decide to compete with current gen PC's, they'd have to raise the price point on the consoles significantly to put the necessary parts i...
If exclusives like the ones you listed were the deciding factor, wouldn't that imply PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii aren't competing? PC is competition for consoles because it gets most of the same multiplat titles. XCOM, Dishonored, Borderlands 2, Black Ops 2, and most of the other big titles this season are on PC as well as console.
Yeah, thought about it long and hard, but I'm still gonna hold out. I really want a wifi model, I don't need the 3g, and my hope is that they'll mark that one down to $150 at some point closer to Black Friday. $30 is saved is $30 on games instead of hardware. I WILL be picking up the Westinghouse 40" TV they have in the same sale. Been wanting something to hook up Steam Big Picture to.
@1saint, the patch is only out for PC right now. They didn't release it on consoles, not yet anyway. When it reaches consoles, sure I can see people getting upset and reaching out about it, but to get angry about the patch on PC?
