i think this is massive news for PS3..... and we will see a huge spike in sales that can continue throughout 2008.
M$ being stuborn and not giving significant price drops is going to cause them to lose this war. Only option now for M$, drop the price of the core that comes packaged with the memory card to $199. The "sweet spot" for the mass market. M$ can still win this war if they do that, otherwise the ps3 at $399 is too good a deal compared to 360 at this point.
i got admit i'm an Xbox loyalist, but dropping the price of the premium only $50 after two years?? only $20 off the core?? give me a break!! They could have opened the flood gates by dropping the core to the "sweet spot" of $199 to compete with the Wii, and the premium down to $299. M$ could have gained a huge lead and cemeted first place, instead Wii is in first and now PS3 is coming back strong.
Now Sony will get that huge jump I beleive. $400 for a next gen gaming/...
You would think the Sony exec would know what there doing.... but they started with two sku, a 20gig and a 60gig......to replace them with a 80gig and a 40gig?? why confuse the customers?
i say bring the 20gig back minus the wi-fi, minus flash memory cards slots, minus backward compatible, minus even bluetooth if it can make it cheaper.....and bring it to a price of $349.

I agree with Blade...i wouldn't be surprised if a sony fanboy set this up. how can that assuption surprise anyone? just like there are xbots out there that go above and beyond to discredit ps3, the same goes for sony fanboys.
either way....instead of adding extra games into the system, they should have had a bigger price drop, because if they dont push enough 360 this season.....
its a fact Gears is EXCLUSIVE to M$, if you still don't know that by now....you really should go back and do your homework. If you think its coming to PS3 one day..then wishful thinking 2 u.
As far as Gear 2....Gears one sold almost 3 million, do you honestly believe they aren't making a Gears 2? also consider they are making a movie??

#1 reason why...it's fun. Play co-op with friends and its fun...and multiplayer is always fun.
I think I still like gears better....but for some reason, i dont take it so perosnal when i lose at Halo multi.... and I have yet to go back to gears.
i think we wil see Mega Hypw when Gear 2 comes out along side the movie in 2009
I think there will be more Mega Hype again with another Halo in 2010 along side a movie.

bioshock, gears and halo.......all AAA games, but each one very different. if anything no multi for bioshock makes it come in 3rd.
i guess the biggest letdown were the character models....well, their faces. Kinda painful to look at, especially when there are games like GeOW out there.
But besides that...yeah it is Halo HD, but isn't that what we expected? Either way, i love this game, and I play it more the campaign because its so much fun to play co-op whether with my friends or my 10 year old kids and his friends
i would have to agree.... its not that graphics were a letdown, but its really halo HD. Some parts are very impressive, and I think they did an awesome job with the game. Its the whole package that people love...the campaign, music, co-op, online and the art style Bungie chose, which is not photo realistic.
It should also be noted that Bungie did the smart thing releasing in sept...why? because then you dont have games like Call of Duty 4 or Unreal T3 to compete with that can m...

whatever bungie decides to do next will probably be set in the Halo universe, and you know its going to get hyped. And come to think of it, their next game will probably be for the next xbox 2010 to help sell systems at launch...... (boy, really got ahead of myself)
I think if the movie gears of war is good enough, their will be another hype train coming for part two of that game. It has the graphics, gameplay, fun co-op and addictive online....will it be as big as halo 3...nop...

do the math... they had preordered about 1.7 million, you figure another 4 to 500,000 copies sold, you multiply that by average copy being sold at $80 (70, 80, and 130 editions) and there you have it.
Kz2 should sell about 1/10 of that on day one if they are lucky.

great time to be an xbox 360 owner.... and i had just finished bioshock (f*cking awesome game) this weekend.
i know there are alot of ps haters out there, saying m$ is paying for good reviews (pathetic).... but i guess i would be a hater too if i had the more expensive ps3 and it just doesn't deliver the AAA games.
and I know ps looks to the future for AAA games, but 360 has them now...Gears of War, Bioshock, and now Halo3.
just picked up my legendary... and rented 2 more from blockbuster using my free e-coupons. And yes they are already out at blockbuster...considering all games usually come out only on fridays.

you make no sense!! ps3 got a great port of ninja gaidon, but ninja gaidon 2 is new and will be available only for 360. Have you seen the trailer? read the interview with the developer of the game? this should be the ultimate ninja gaiden, and ps3 owners that loved part one will have to get 360 to play 2.

i dont blame you. yeah if there was a game like halo coming out for ps3 i would get it too.
i almost got a ps3 this year because of HS, Lair, and blu-ray. But HS and Lair did not live up to the hype, so the only thing really pushing the hype train on ps3 was blu-ray, but even that is questionable because of hd-dvd now.
guess i'll wait till next year and see reviews for MGS4 and KZ2 and how blu-ray is doing, but until then....HALO, HALO, HALO....until Mass Effect....
by releasing Halo on DS only will widen the Halo fanbase....and being the DS is so freakin popular in Japan and Halo/360 is not....you make a killer Halo for DS that will translate into more Halo Fans.
Halo + DS = Halo fans in Japan = more xbox fans = more 360 sales.
