i'm definitely pro-HD-DVD, but to not count PS3 in the format war is pretty stupid in my opinion.
I mean, if I was in the market right now for a high def player that plays 1080p....why wouldn't I go for the cheap PS3 $400 player that also plays HD games and has a web browser??
unless they put out a hd-dvd player sub $200...and I mean around $149...that is obviously only going to play 1080i/720p.....i'm sure the mass market that dont know too much about the format war m...
c/mon M$..... you have to bring it down to at least $249......or bring it to the mass market at $199.....because a $399 ps3 with 40gig HDD and blu-ray is coming.
well guess Sony will have to work with new IP's to try to get a new console selling game.... i thought they had it again with GTA.
xbox has halo and now Gears of War
nintendo has mario and zelda
sony? could be argued MGS or FF.... (nothing compared to GTA when it was on PS2 though)
go to any of the past threads that talk about GTA4 exclusive episodic content 4 xbox and you'll read the sony fanboys saying how GTA has already lost its appeal and that its not that good anymore.... but now that there's a chance for it to be exclusive again...there all singin a different tune.
just remember guys if GTA4 really is so great, make sure you have your 360 to play all the episodic content next year
rockstar will want to stay multi plat now, especially with 360 sales alomst tripling ps3.
either way...your looking at a 2011 date...at best....for the NEXT gen consoles.
but the fact is, PS2 won last generation due to GTA....if they get an exclusive deal for the next one, it can finally have something again as big as HALO.
i think with Sony they have always been so enthusiastic and preached so damn much about how much BC is....it was a big selling point for PS2 and was a big selling point advertised to PS3.
if anything, i think they should have took out the wi-fi and kept BC...cause everyone knows you get a much cleaner reliable signal from wired anyways... they could have always made the wi-fi an extra add-on.

I owned 360 since launch....this year broke down and bought the Wii..... I guess by next year if KZ2 turns out to be AAA game, and then there is MGS4 and if blu-ray wins...... I'll be buying one next xmas.

you post games that aren't even released....dont post a AAA game like Halo based on reviews and put Bioshock in fifth when it has the highest reviews for any game within the last three years...

sucks for the 360 fans....its should be more than obvious to everyone that developing games for the PS3 is much harder than 360..thus all the delays of games and demos....and some games not running as smoothly (pretty much every multi game except oblivion)
so what sucks for the 360 fans is we are suffering more of a wait (just like GTA4) because of the PS3....WTF!!!! I was really looking forward to the 360 version...now I'll probably just get it on PC.
wow Halo sells more in one week than MGS3 in its lifetime.
Playstation has some great exclusives, MGS and FF (which could be argued are coming to 360) But systems sellers like Halo, GtA, and Mario are the blockbusters.....
Wii will always sell to the kids and even more with Mario Galexy coming in NOv
xbox will have the exclusive GTA content next year....more xbox sales.
Sony has to keep thier fingers crossed KZ2 gets good reviews.

its obviously being aimed at people that dont plan to go online, or just want to get started, because the the hard drive can always be added in later.
there are alot of po folks out there that dont have broadband but still play video games. and there are alot of parents that dont want there kids playing online

could be viewed as a smart move...wireless controller, HDMI, 5 or 6 arcare games, and a mempry stick...
BUT with the juggernaut that is the $399 40gig ps3 coming, bring the price down to $249 at least to compete with the Wii....or even take a hit like PS3 is doing and bring the price down to the "sweet spot" of $199 for the MASS MARKET and hands down you got the winner of this console war..I beleive.
they pretty much gave a the warning a couple of weekes ago..stating again, it will be done when its done.
there are plenty of great games coming out this year...so its ok, EPIC proved they can make a great console game with GeOW, i'm sure UT3 will be a great game when its done.
in the meantime xbox can play COD4, Halo, and Mass Effect....PS3 owners will be plaing Haze, Uncharted, and COD4.

this is being aimed at parents shopping for their kids....you add a racing game and a cool looking game with all the superheros kids like bundled in, and it seems like a great deal.
