now just waiting from the official from rockstar to confirm no AA and lower resolution for ps3 version.
Its no surprise to me 360 is the superior version and we get the DLC content.... sweet.
The latest tests by Quaz51 at Beyond3D have revealed that the PS3 version HAS NO AA! Compared to 2xMSAA for the XB360 version.
And with the ps3 running at a lower resolution 630p.
to be honest the videos look the same.
but:
ps3 - no AA, 630p, no DLC, no achievements, online is down at this time, reports of problems installing on HDD, washed out colors, useless sixaxis controls.
360 - AA, 720p, achievements, LIVE, DLC, more vibrant colors,
it was an easy choice for me since i only have a 360, and i'm thankful i am able to get the superior version.
@ Noodlecup - when you compare a PC to a 360, yes you do get what you pay for.

ITs sweet irony that ALL sonyfans jumped at the chance to claim PS3 GTA4 is "superior" because of a couple of reviews claimed slight edge. But now that the facts are out and it shows the ps3 was dumbed down just to try to get it on par with the 360 version.

its funny when reviews bash certain ps3 games, all sonyfans rally up saying they dont listen to reviews, or those websites are on MS payroll.

why would MS advertise the DLC now?
come holiday season, and the DLC does come out, expect heavy MS style advertising campaign for the EXCLUSIVE episodic downloadable content ONLY on Xbox 360 for what could be the highest rated game of all time, best selling game of the year, and possible 2008 GOTY

believe the advetising will come.
i'm no dev or expert, but its pretty clear that if done properly, installing a game reduces loading times, pop-ins, and helps loading textures. Its the reasons ps3 gets the slight edge for this game.
why bother?
this game is getting reviewed as one of the highest rated games all all time, its the game that really helped move ps2's last gen, and the best selling series on ps2 (all 3 in the top 4), yet sonyfans will still deny not wanting the DLC.
excuses for sonyfans to fall back on:
#1 Too busy playing other games when it comes out
#2 It isn't going to be any good, just some missions
#3 its timed exclusive and will come to ps3 (@wal...

this is what a mega blockbuster system selling game is.
if the scores are the same, that means the differences are minimal.
if the differences are like orange box, splinter cell, and others.. then the differences are obvious and should reflect in the score.
then i guess we'll just see how the sales go.
it doesn't take a analyst to predict the 360 coming out ahead...by alot. just look at cod4.

when games are compared as a slight edge, that means it could go either way in other reviews. When the differences are obvious like past 360 games that almost always run better than the ps3 port by a large margin, then the choice is obvious.
your talking about a perfect 10, one of the best games ever made in the eyes of these ign reviewers, so I ask you, are you sure your going to want to miss out on the DLC? the dev are excited about the DLC...and when it comes around, ALL ps3...

Now the two highest rated and the best selling games on ps3 are COD4 and GTA4, both multi-plat and 640p (630p)....
