That Sony claiming the vita’s failure was because portable AAA gaming is dead due to smart phones was utter balls?

Without the original dev team that made the games the brand is just a logo. BioWare dissipated sadly when they moved on.

Odyssey is essentially a reskinned Origins. Game played exactly the same, a few core activities repeated a thousand times over and yes you are right the environments don’t vary much at all. There is a cookie cutter feel to the forts and towns. After origins I’ve struggled to finish odyssey for this reason.

AC brotherhood was a great game for sure. I’ve always felt the assassin theme was best suited to the historical period of 1 though. Problem is that the game itself wasn’t great. Revisiting that time with updated game mechanics is a great move i think.

I liked the rebooted format at first but burned out on it during odyssey. The games were just too repetitive and far far too long so that they got very stale for me.

Relieved the series is taking a new direction. Cautiously optimistic now.

Love the current model…for the second iteration I’d like an OLED with a screen big enough to fill the bezel the current model has.

The ol’ 2080ti is getting a little long in the tooth now. I’m super excited to get my hands on a 4090.

Surprised vita didn’t get a mention in the article.

Steam deck is all the good of the vita plus the switch plus steam rolled into one. Bloody brilliant.

I can natively play a huge library day one and stream my pc games and my ps5 games all working perfectly. What more could you possibly want in a handheld.

Huge fan of the deck here but no it will not destroy the switch in mass market appeal. The idea that it would is just silly.

In the eyes of hardcore or pc gamers then yeah sure it will possibly be a more appealing machine.

I played it after it was patched and released on ps5. Got about 80% through and gave up. I’ve never been quite able to put my finger on why but the game just doesn’t click with me. I had no bugs, just found the actual game lacking somehow. Really wanted to like it.

How sad. Don’t like their products, don’t buy them. Criticise them all you want. Threatening them though…just wrong.

Agree it’s not for everyone. The only worrying bit was getting you PSN ID using python scripts. If you follow any of the online guides though it takes minutes to sort. Getting the network quality clean enough for a good experience is the real test though. That took me longer.

Wish sony would release a remote play steam app.

Mine works perfectly. No image issues or lag. I fiddled around quite a bit to get it working really well. The key isn’t the your broadband speed but your internal wifi. When I found a clear 5gz channel all the issues vanished.

Best remote play hardware for PlayStation consoles is the steam deck (ironically).

The exact same thing happened to my first controller. Bought another and been fine so far.

Wouldn’t surprise me at all and then after that another remaster for the PS6. By PS7 it’ll be rereleased in photo real mode.

If your patient it’s good to wait a good year from release before buying games. I’ll pick this up soon much cheaper and more polished than day one.

Studio produces game to make money is a bad thing now? Don’t want it don’t buy it. Simple.

It’s does feel early. Covid has put this generation back a couple years compared to previous ones, both in terms of hardware availability and games production.

Having said that it would be great to no longer have to compromise by dropping to 30fps to play games in graphics mode. I’m part of the problem here I know but I do love the tech would no doubt preorder.
