With the pc version in cities I can’t get 60fps with raytracing even with gpu utilisation in the 60% mark. Presumably this is CPU bound. I have a 5800x3d so no slouch either.
I see upgrades looming in my future.
Not console but…for a frame of reference to console players on a rtx 3090 with a 5800x3d cpu if I turn everything up to max I get 20fps. That’s a GPU that alone costs as much as 2 PS5s. I actually cant get a solid 60fps with raytracing even with upscaling set to ultra performance. With that in mind the consoles deserve credit for what they do achieve.
Although the patched version looks good there is nothing there visually to justify the crazy hardware requirements needed ...
I’d be willing to bet that his ‘taking responsibility’ will end with him keeping his job and the admin getting fired.
New killzone single player campaign accompanied by a remaster of 2 and 3 would be great.
Live service…not for me.
Gamers should vote with their wallets. Seems to be happening too…looking in the UK the main retailers haven’t sold out of any of the 4080 models several days after launch. Predictions that they would only be available on eBay from scalpers were wrong. Very pleasing to see.
Truth is none of them are as good. The cheaper ones are so much worse that I'd just pay more for a Deck. The more expensive ones aren't as good due to the lack of the Steam ecosystem and support the Deck has do I'd be spending more on something I like less. The only realistic challenger is a future Switch 2...until then Deck wins easily.
As Xbox puts all its games on PC I have no compelling reason to buy the hardware at all as PC is my platform of choice. If I did have only an Xbox I'd be delighted with Game pass, very disappointed with the lack of exclusives and tempted to get a PS5.
Yep, keeping a very close eye on how AMDs cards stack up. May switch from NVIDIA for the first time ever if they are solid performers. No melting cables or PSU upgrade is nice too.
The GPU market has become a total nightmare.
MSRPs are crazy high. If the MSRPs weren't bad enough retailers are then further hiking asking prices. If inflated retailer prices weren't bad enough you have eBay scalpers buying up all the stock to then inflate prices even further and even with all that going on cards are still selling out.
I would love to upgrade to a 4000 series card but not in this insane toxic market. I'll sit and wait fo...
They really just needed the second stick for me. A control scheme alone the lines of the deck would have been a big improvement
Shame that they won’t try again. Steam deck has equivalent horsepower to a PS4 so Sony could technically actually produce a portable PS4 that runs your PS4 library as well as vita and ps classics. Huge ready to go game library from day one. Would be amazing.
Not a popular opinion but I totally agree with you. Uncharted 4 brought in too many TLOU mechanics and puzzles. These games were best as light hearted easy going action adventures. Don’t want stealth and realism at all.
Way I see it, if you want the best possible ultra performance and have deep pockets get RTX4000. You'll get the wow factor performance.
If you want great performance (without the raytracing), power efficiency and value for money go 7000 series. Gives the added benefit of voting with your wallet on where you stand on 2000 dollar 'consumer' GPUs.
If you want to be sensible with your money pick up a RTX 3000 or 6000 series in the next few months...
This is such a good game. So simple but I can play it for hours.
I have confidence in Remedy not to mess this up. This is going to be a top class game.
Overused game mechanics? How about:
Clear out a guard post.
Clear out another very similar guard post up the road. Clear out another very similar guard post up the road.
Clear out another very similar guard post up the road.
Clear out another very similar guard post up the road.
Clear out a base and steal the treasure in the chest.
Clear out another very similar base, steal the treasure.
Clear out another very similar base, ste...
It’s weird that they put a 3950x. I have one and it’s great for productivity but generally a let down for gaming as single core performance isn’t great. This might actually be the first time I’ll ever get value from those cores in a game. Crazy requirement though as I’m sure very few gaming pcs have 16 cores even among the high end let alone the average builds.
That would amount to PlayStation setting themselves up as a games distributor platform on pc and as a competitor to steam as PS plus extra is full of multiplayer titles also on pc via steam and epic.
It’s extremely unlikely to happen, but would be interesting to see to be honest.
Don’t reckon Hollywood movies do any better. Strange complaint really
Yet I’ll still pay for the steam version. Im aware that’s crazy but I just want all my games in one place. It doesnt really make sense but much of what people do doesn’t I guess.
Keen to try this one day though. Want to experience the weirdness I’ve read about.
