I love that desert sequence. Oddly enough though, I felt like they didn't go far enough with it. They kept cutting away from each "scene" after only 30 seconds or so. I wish they let you actually wander for a while...maybe put a few more mirages out in the distance for you to chase after.
That's just me though...I'm sure others would get bored of it quickly. Guess I'll just have to wait for Journey to do my aimless desert traversing.
Is it weird that I got more interested in I Am Alive AFTER it became a DLC title?
I may not be that interested in more AAA apocalyptic fare, but a smaller, more focused title at a budget price point sounds appealing to me.
Agreed, though I think it could still be worthwhile for people who never played the original. I remember how hard it was for me to go back and play Crono Trigger years after its release. But for anyone who played 7 in 1997, I can't see them being satisfied with any remake.
Looks like it's got kind of an Earthworm Jim kinda art style.
I'd be rolling a Bounty Hunter, no doubt. Never met a problem that couldn't be solved with high explosives.
Nice preview. I'm watching this one out of the corner of my eye.
50+ hours of content sounds pretty solid.
Marvel vs. Capcom games seem just a bit too cartoony for me. I get overwhelmed by all the special effects!
I just don't see them deviating much from the formula that's been so successful for them. Considering the dollars at stake, I can't see them going deep into the past or future.
Though, they'll need some hook to differentiate it from the last game, for sure. A different modern war locale, or an alternate history, perhaps? Maybe something that lets them spice up the gun lineup a little bit.
Rapture is definitely one of my absolute favorites. I wonder if Columbia will be able to top it?
I'm definitely a fan of the series, but comparing Kojima to Homer is crazy talk. Some restraint and subtlety would serve him well.
3 was probably my favorite, though I'd like to give peace walker a shot.
A super-cursory google search seems to put Dark Souls ahead of it in terms of player base, w/ something probably in the range of 400k-plus sales. Though comparing the different genres is a bit iffy.
PSN games don't sell very well traditionally, so I'm not sure how much it matters that its one of the top PSN sellers. Really, Wipeout might be the poster boy for the fact that there are some top-shelf games on the PSN, ones that should really have done as well as standard retail fare.
That was a bigger issue for me with Infamous. Cole stuck to every surface like he was magnetic.
I'll be logging more hours on Battlefield, myself. Love that multiplayer. But I'm glad to hear this one getting such good reviews, even if I'll only rent it.
Good to hear that its still fun for people who aren't up on their superheroes and villains.
Played a few rounds of it on PS3 tonight. Finally having access to vehicles makes a big difference.
Took a little while to shake off "CoD mode", but once I got some of the kinks worked out of my playstyle, I found it to be quite fun.
Hah! Cosplay is one of those things that isn't for me at all, but that I'm glad there are people out there that have the juevos for it.
Good stuff.
I'm actually totally cool with that. So much of the game is going to be about experiencing its "set piece" moments, and I'm happy to experience them fresh when I play it.
I'm having fun with it, but I'm not blown away. The shallow NPC's are probably the biggest disappointment for me. Despite their great animations and design, they might as well be job boards. The poorly fleshed-out story hurts, too.
Love the gameplay and level design, though.
I did have a nice exchange with their tech support the other day though, when I called about Black Ops, so at least there's that.
I honestly didn't realize that the Halo canon got that, uh...detailed.
For some reason the upcoming changes make me more excited than apprehensive. I guess I feel like the series needs a shake up.
