Sounds like the story of most Kinect games.
Technically, Modern Warfare 3 has sold less units than Black Ops did.
I know it seems like the series is completely entrenched, but it's really only been the juggernaut that we see today since 2007. There's still plenty of time for the series to experience the downside of its arc.
Great news. I wonder what console generation they're aiming for?
I hope that the next RDR entry continues the last game's more thoughtful approach. I'll be immeasurably bummed if the game skews too far towards the action side of things, personally.
On the bright side, you probably saved yourself quite a bit of cash.
Can't say I'm interested in the vampire side of things, but I'm glad that there's at least some other stuff to play around with. Sure wish they added spears, though.
Ouch. What a shame...the premise actually sounds pretty interesting. Pity that technical issues ruin the experience.
Solid points about morality systems. I'm always bugged when a morality system doles out rewards based upon how far you go towards one side. If they do that, then where's the incentive to consider each action individually? You may as well just ask me whether I want to be good or evil at the start, and build the game from there.
Mass Effect and Infamous got that really wrong.
I actually thought "No Russian" was handled fairly well. That mission was a real gut punch.
I just dunno about Spec Ops. I'm glad that the narrative is, by all accounts, strong. But the game looks pretty rough around the edges, and I thought it controlled terribly, myself.
Either way though, I'm glad it's being so well received. They tried something different, and a little more thoughtful. That's always appreciated.
Solid choices, but personally, I'd have Bioshock in there over any of them. I just don't think game openings get any better.
A beautiful, steampunk baby. Here's to hoping that the plot is as good as the rest of the game looks.
Closure is a great deal at 30-50% off. Some head-scratching puzzles, a neat mechanic, and a creepy art style. It's got a lot going for it.
Looks like it's got a bit of a "bullet hell" sort of feel, what with those neon bullets.
It's all about the software. Vita is struggling because of a lack of compelling titles. If they can turn that around, and lower the barrier of entry, I suspect it'll fare much better.
Regarding Nintendo: they could certainly use more 3rd party games, but it seems to run counter to their business strategy. I can at least say that while they do rely on names like Mario, Zelda, etc., they put those names onto drastically different gameplay experiences.
Einhander would be awesome. But hey, we're finally getting Sine Mora, so that should tide us shmup fans over for a bit!
I agree with most of what Molyneux had to say (talking points were never really his problem, anyway), but I'm incredibly skeptical of 22 cans. This "experiment" of theirs doesn't sound remotely interesting to me....publishers have been experimenting with the line of what people are willing to pay for for many, many years now. I don't see how Molyneux's game adds to that field of study.
If someone pays 50,000£ to find out what's in the myst...
Agreed. I've been MMORPG'd-out for a while now. But the Foundry idea does sound real promising. I wonder how it will work in practicality?
Damned well put.
I want to believe that gamers will vote with their dollars against this sort of thing, but it seems like the publishers have gotten very skilled at toeing the line of what they'll accept.
I wish that turning every game into Gears of Duty wasn't the smart financial move. But the silent majority keeps on buying 'em when they do, so it's going to keep on happening.
The pendulum will swing away eventually, but it...
Some of the features sound a bit like fluff. The idea of moving cover is interesting, but I don't know if the implementation really sounds compelling. Same for the "fake being captured" technique...and I hope it's not a piece of cake to pull off.
But there's some really good stuff there, too. Dynamic weather would be awesome. And the new npc behaviors sound great. I'm more excited by stuff like that than by a new kill move.
Ugh, "Machine for Pigs" makes me think of the music video for NIN's "Closer".
Creepy stuff.
Honestly, I disagree. I feel like trailer music has gotten pretty cliched.
Making an action game, but want to pretend that it rings on an emotional level? Add a sad song, and try to capture the feel of that old Gears of War "Mad World" commercial.
Making a horror game? Have a kid sing a children's song or nursery rhyme without accompaniment. Add an echo effect for extra creepy.
Making a racing game, or a game with something that...
