Other games that did a massive skip in time: Half-Life 2, Dead Space 2, Portal 2...
I have a feeling they're leaving the fates of those two unanswered for a reason. There's lots of hints in the story, but I think we'll see them in a third.
There's so many hidden comments in here it's hilarious. I don't understand why people get upset over sales. All three consoles are doing fine in the United States -- who cares if "your" console isn't first?
Protip: Any site that says either will have Larrabee now is full of crap. Intel killed Larrabee as consumers know it a long time ago. It's now a high-performance workstation chip.
Not to be a jerk, but this is a "no duh" article.
Those numbers include Windows Mobile, not just Windows Phone (they're different platforms). Businesses are transitioning away from Windows Mobile at fast rates since the OS is no longer being actively supported.
Microsoft as a whole losing market share doesn't mean Windows Phone 7 is losing market share. Am I saying it's not losing market share for certain? Nope, it could have. But the activation numbers for all the $1 phone promotions they did over the holidays ...
What does that have to do with Alan Wake?
Generals 2 is 2013, I believe.
@EeJLP-:
I specifically said I didn't include downloadable releases, but if you want to go that route, you're forgetting the following games on XBLA: Shadow Complex, 'Splosion Man, N+, Trials HD, Aegis Wing (free), Crimson Alliance, Geometry Wars, Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet, Iron Brigade, Small Arms, Toy Soldiers, Undertow, pretty much every indie release, etc.
I also said I was forgetting some on each side (I was only naming the major franchi...
@Hicken:
If you were asking which games to name that the 360 has and the PS3 doesn't, I'd say the following: Halo, Gears of War, Forza, Project Gotham, Crackdown, Fable, Dance Central, Alan Wake, Viva Pinata, Kameo, The Gunstringer, and Kinect Sports
If you were asking which games to name that the PS3 has and the 360 doesn't, I'd say the following: Uncharted, Killzone, inFamous, Gran Turismo, LittleBigPlanet, God of War, Ratchet & Clank, R...
Uh-oh, iTunes has been doing it all wrong! You better go tell Apple they don't know what they're doing.
Ummm... why not? All you have to do is plug in an Ethernet cord or turn on WiFi, if you have the 360 S or wireless adapter. You don't have to pay a monthly fee to download content.
Halo 4 is coming out on the Xbox 360, they've said that numerous times.
A. No, BioWare was made an EA label (similar to EA Sports, EA Partners, EA Maxis, etc) a while ago. DICE is not an EA label.
B. BioWare isn't making the game, Victory is. BioWare is the LABEL, Victory is the DEVELOPER.
C. No, the entire former Westwood and EA Pacific teams did not go to Petroglyph, although a good portion did.
D. You directly contradicted yourself in the second and third paragraphs. You don't know, but suddenly you know one paragraph later?
This post is highly uninformed. Textures and models? That has to do with the specific game, not with the engine itself. Both engines are capable of similar texture and model work.
You're right, though. Cry Engine is just visuals... because it is a GRAPHICS ENGINE. That's kind of the point. Your post seems to be comparing Crysis 2 to Battlefield 3. That's not the same as comparing the engines that power each.
It's a simulation. The purpose isn't to show off fancy graphics.
This article and the people commenting on it are missing the entire point of the project.
I love how the comments in this article are getting downvoted. I guess some people are mad about sales?
N4G, you never cease to amaze me with what you're willing to get upset about.
Not really sure how it's amazing -- the PS3 has been selling fairly well in the U.S. for some time now, just as how the Wii has been falling off for quite some time.
What is amazing, however, is how many units each hardware company was able to sell. That's incredibly amazing.
I don't like the new primary interface (for selecting movies), but the new in-movie interface is amazing (in-movie rating, related movies, audio and subtitle options, etc). So for that reason alone, there's no way I'd go back to the previous version.
How are they going to ban you for blocking access to a server of theirs on your router? That doesn't make any sense.
Still, it's pretty much worthless. If you don't have ads there you just have the boxes with other things (like wireless information, dashboard information, etc). So really pretty pointless.
I wouldn't call it great. It was bug-ridden, had a horrible story, and simply wasn't fresh. It was a good start for Danger Close, and I certainly look forward to seeing what they do with the sequel, but I wouldn't claim it was "great."
