It's an April Fools' joke.
Yes, it's just an April Fools' Day joke. I mean, just read the article:
“They usually get us to buy them dinner at PAX, and believe me, those dinners start to add up, so we finally crunched the numbers and discovered it would be cheaper to just acquire them outright” said Mike Wilford, Twisted Pixel’s Chief Officer of Mergers and Development.
Ska Studios was purchased for “a sweet jet ski, even though jet skis are totally useless 95% of the year in up...
Really odd review given the other reviews:

Go play Nintendo? Now you're just trolling.
You keep saying it's too much, but you never explain how. Having a minor graphic displaying the location of objectives is clutter? How? Explain it to me. Because they're essential to the game modes.
Yes, I'd say you really do, as it can be very disorienting at times -- especially when you spawn. I'm not sure how having the objectives of a game shown on screen is clutter.
Protip: When calling someone an idiot, don't say "your an idiot."
I'll be the lone naysayer: I don't care for the graphics. The enemy character models look bad, and the outdoor textures need a lot of work.
But as long as the gameplay is more like the original and less like the second (which I maintain was an abomination), I'll be happy.
Because he wanted to party in the U.S.A.?
The "leapfrog" strategy is much better than trying to rush a title out yearly. It works for Activision because they basically have difference franchises now -- Modern Warfare and Black Ops (or whatever Treyarch does instead of Black Ops).
Warper, by far.
But I still kill -- I just don't frag (what the game considers a frag, at least). I like flinging bodies and dropping them off ledges :)
The article specifically says it isn't Homefront 2:
"We still want to deliver the highest quality that we can, wherever we go," he added. "You know about Homefront, you know about Ryse. We are working on another project... [laughs] all three of which are looking really good."
Um, no. Plain and simple.
This article is just throwing poop at the wall and hoping it sticks. It does not mesh with the information The Verge broke at all.
I don't think they're going to "bowl over" anyone, but I don't get how you guys are saying this isn't a strong list for so early in the year. What have Sony and Nintendo announced so far for this year on consoles?
But, yeah, that's not going to bowl anyone over, period. Surely they'll announce more games at E3, one would hope.
Wait, I'm confused... why would you include handhelds when comparing the three consoles?
First of all, it's "their." /grammar Nazi
Second of all, we must be playing different games, because Crytek has yet to make a stinker.
@n1kki6: Yes, the picture is now news that we have a good idea of what it is.
Are you seriously this dense?
Dear goodness, how this line of conversation got more agrees than disagrees is beyond me.
First of all, the original "leak" of the Steam Box came from The Verge, which is a well-known site run by the former Engadget editor-in-chief. They routinely break stories on Microsoft and Apple products before they're announced to the public.
Secondly, he said he built a PC because that's what the Steam Box spec is -- a glorified PC. How are you guys n...
From what we know so far, Microsoft seems to have a fairly good lineup that balances core games, Kinect/casual games, and XBLA games. I'm not sure why it should matter if they're brand new franchises or just new entries in existing franchises.
I just don't see how having American Nightmare, Halo 4, Fable: Heroes, and Forza Horizon is a down year for hardcore games. What are the new IPs on Kinect for 2012 that you're referring to?
Seems like we...
I don't even remotely agree. How did one game prove that? I can think of countless games on XBLA and PSN that "proved" the opposite.
This article is full of crap.
An always-on Internet connection? Sorry, but even today (or when it's released) that would eliminate a massive amount of potential customers, and it would also make it difficult to sell in foreign markets like India, for instance.
Having the GPUs separately draw graphics would also be a disadvantage, as it would make games more difficult to port (in either direction). That would remove one of the advantages Microsoft has actu...
