I'm not trying to sensor any "news" at all. But this isn't news. Microsoft released its financials a number of days ago, and this wasn't reported because it isn't news -- it's a complete misunderstanding of basic financial calculations. The article has been edited several times since publication, but the incorrect headline remains. The fact that the person responding to you, kingvendrick, still doesn't understand that it's not a $400 million loss indicate...
I'm not about to explode, I'm just pointing out your inaccuracies. You wrote an article that is incorrect, and your headline reflects that. The fact that you've edited the article several times since it was originally published (which can be seen in the Google and Bing caches) doesn't change the incorrect headline that you're using in an attempt to generate clicks.
How did this story get approved? It's completely incorrect. These figures are the differences in changes, not the total amounts.
The $1.7 billion is the increase amount of revenue, while the $2.1 billion is the increase amount of cost of revenue. $1.7 billion is cited as an increase of 34 percent, while $2.1 billion is cited as an increase of 72 percent. $1.7 billion is 34 percent of $5 billion, while $2.1 billion is 72 percent of $2.9 billion.
You're not making a whole lot of sense. Ryse is a flawed game, but the idea that it was just made to serve as a graphical benchmark is simply silly. Such a plot would never work out well in the long run, as people wouldn't buy the game -- it doesn't take a genius to figure that out.
It's not some big conspiracy. Crytek and surely didn't set out to make a decent, at best, game, there was just a very well-known and poor development process.
Crytek's headcount can largely be accounted for by their recent acquisitions and new formations. They acquired Free Radical in 2009, and they're about to release their first full game (Homefront's sequel). Crytek USA was founded from the remainders of the Vigil Games crew just last year.
In 2012, Crytek Istanbul was created to focus on their F2P games, and its Shanghai studio was founded the same year to focus on CryENGINE licensing in the region.

"Technical nightmare" must have a new meaning.
From the article:
Rare's "Kinect Sports Rivals," a first-party game, was the only announced launch title that required the use of the Kinect sensor. On Thursday, however, Microsoft said the game has been delayed until early 2014. Several other games, such as "Dead Rising 3" and "Ryse: Son of Rome," can make use of the sensor but don't require it. Most of the games that feature Kinect capabilities only use the vocal features, not the sensor's m...
Wonder why
Agreed. I'm sure they'd listen if a great offer came along, but that seems unlikely.
The article never states where these rumors are coming from and uses a misleading title. There was a rumor some Chinese company was considering buying them a month or so ago, but that was later revealed to be completely untrue.
Modern Warfare 15? Don't be silly, that doesn't fit with Activision's release schedule for the franchise.
Clearly we'll be on Modern Warfare 752 by next year.
The fact that there are any disagrees to this, let alone 7, is insane.
Did you read the article, or are you just going off the headline?
I'm sorry, but this list is absolutely horrible. No Half-Life games? No BioShock? No Unreal games? There's just so many games missing.
For those that obviously don't get it: it was a parody of the lyrics in "Mama Said Knock You Out."
Don't call it a new engine
It's been here for years
It's worrying that obvious troll posts like this get so many "agree" votes on N4G.
It's Halo. If you don't have an idea of what the gameplay's going to be like, you've been living under a rock.
Yeah, I'm calling BS on this until I can see it with my own eyes. It's simply not possible to do a lot of the things DX11 can do on a PS3 or 360.
Can't say I agree. The suit powers were better being more simplistic -- they were quicker to access, and it simply made more sense.
I do agree it needs to be more open, though. The matches were disappointingly small in Crysis 2.
That's not what is happening, so it's not a pointless article.
