If you haven't played Demon's Souls already then sure... Otherwise it's not much better than usual, especially since most of them are on PS4 too.
I fail to see how any of this will give an advantage to PlayStation users. it just lets them rank up faster, which doesn't really help them win games, especially in the long term.
@Nexus - Crossplay helps keep playerbases active. People weren't asking for it to work with PC, everyone knew that would be unbalanced. If a game does have issues with it, and you don't have any friends on other systems to play with, then you can disable it in pretty much every game I've seen.
You lose nothing with crossplay. Get over it.
I know next to nothing about the game, but the discussions I've seen have theorised that it will have horror undertones. The creators compared it to Bioshock, which only adds to that. There's an element of the unknown, which is the exciting part. I think the world looks great, and the bugs are unique too.
It might also be that I'm not overly hyped for any of the major launch titles on either console. I've already played Demon's Souls to death on the PS3,...
Not gonna lie, this is the launch game I'm most excited for.
It doesn't sound like they're going to change the ending, Casey Hudson emphasised that it's not going to be a reimagining. Slightly disappointing, but you probably couldn't expect much more.
Fingers crossed that the next game is a direct sequel to Mass Effect 3.
That's fine, but accept that it isn't doesn't demonstrate what an actual next gen game could be capable of from a gameplay perspective. It doesn't matter if it's built from the ground up, it plays almost exactly the same as it did in 2009.
Was there any dialogue in the game that confirmed this? I don't recall. Or is this just another Overwatch case where they make this up after they released it?
@Tiqila - I could understand Sony's reasoning when it came to game sharing, I knew a few people who teamed up to buy a game once, and ended up splitting it amongst the five of their group. That's overkill. The difference with physical games is that you can't play it on 5 consoles at the same time.
I personally didn't have a problem with it, and certainly I've been put off buying games digitally on PS4 for the most part. But from a business point of view ...
It sounds the same as the current PS4 system from what I can tell. But I know what you mean. Towards the end of the generation where a large family may own 2-3 consoles, it makes it impossible to buy digital, as everyone in the house, bar one account holder, would be locked into playing it on the one console. And heaven forbid if there's a WiFi outage. You would need to have more than one PS+ membership in this case too.
It's a shame, as the PS3 used to allow 5 act...
Yeah probably. I would complain, but I'll probably buy it anyway.
So... can we get 60fps for Red Dead 2?
They gave 343 Industries five years to make Halo Infinite, so this might be a case where Microsoft couldn't have done any more than they have for the Series X launch. They will know the lack of a killer launch title hurts Xbox.
They obviously know that exclusives matter, that's why they bought all these studios. The problem is that none of them could get anything ready for launch, and that's killed the most of the excitement for their new consoles.
I consider the arena gameplay to be the most important part of CoD multiplayer, and the map design is the absolute worst in the series. It's the worst of the Modern Warfare games.
Nothing will show the full power of the console until one of their first party studios do it, which will likely be a few years away. It's a shame that despite being the more powerful console, Demon's Souls and Godfall look better than anything on it.
It's not awful, but you can see how Halo Infinite's poor gameplay showing and delay really stuffed it up.
Infamous Second Son, Borderlands 3, Mass Effect Andromeda, The Last Guardian, Halo 5 single player, Modern Warfare multiplayer, Deus Ex Mankind Divided, The Last of Us 2, Sea of Thieves, Dead Rising 4, Fallout 4... I could go on.
A big chunk of games this generation have been ruined by a lack of innovation, bad direction, lack of content, or just being flat out broken. I've been disappointed more times than I've been impressed.
I liked it, it was actually my favourite of the series.
I preferred the first game. The campaign for 2 was better than the average shooter, but still nothing to write home about in my opinion. The multiplayer wasn't as good, as they had to break the perfect balance of the first game in order to bring in more Titans. The Titans also got heavily nerfed, and weren't as fun to use as a result. The maps weren't quite as good either.
People always bring up that releasing it between Battlefield and Call of Duty killed the p...
I dislike their new 10 point score system, mainly because game outlets like IGN are reluctant to give out scores any less than a 7. This means an 8 becomes average, and it effectively becomes a 4 point score system (7-10) for AAA games. I still believe there is a big difference between a 9 and a 9.5.
