I've visited this site pretty much every day since early 2010. I do miss when it was seriously active, seeing all the buzz around review scores and announcements. Two users spring to mind from back in the day, Saaking and Bungie, as memorable for spearheading the Playstation and Xbox console wars here. Was rather entertaining.
It's a shame it's headed this way.
While Bluepoint should never have been made to make a live service anything, as they were best in class at what they did, Sony seem to be incapable of realising they've got IPs better suited to a live service game. Killzone as a PvP centric game. Resistance as a PvPvE game, with inspiration from Resistance 2's co-op. Warhawk. As examples.
Why God of War, and now Horizon? Neither seem suited to a multiplayer game to me, and I can only imagine them being very complica...

I disagree with the sentiment that it shouldn't qualify, even though I get that it's a bit underwhelming for an expansion to potentially win. If the best new full fledged games aren't as good as another game's expansion, then that's their problem. Outer Wilds Echoes of the Eye was my game of the year in 2021.
They should've made more 30th anniversary bundles. They would've easily sold 10x more, and I dare say 20x more than the amount they made.
I would've thought they're too busy with Avowed and Outer Worlds 2
On that note, I think a gifting system on the Playstation Store is long overdue
People still defend TLOU2? You're in denial if you think the story was anything other than a mess.
It looks as though Bungie inflated their revenue target prior to the Sony sale to prop themselves up, it was never a realistic target. Especially not when they release a below par expansion like Lightfall in a year as packed as 2023.
The Last of Us 2 over Uncharted 2 and Metal Gear Solid 3. What a joke. Happy to see Outer Wilds high on the the list though.

So Modern Warfare 3 is getting MW2 2009 maps... I mean they're better than the maps they make these days so that's fine I guess, even if it's lazy.
Why the hell could they have not got their act together with Dreams? It had so much potential , and a free to play model could have worked wonders. Giving it away after they canned it, what a joke.
Compared to the lineup we had at this stage of the PS4 life cycle, it is pretty barren. Spider Man 2 is just one game in an otherwise empty year, and their showcase did nothing to alleviate these concerns.
I was going to buy Diablo 4 until I heard about the scaling system. Way to kill off 80% of the reason to play a game like this, it's not like the combat is anything special by today's standards.
It was really disappointing. I am excited for Helldivers 2 though.
The reveal was terrible, but I liked the original Xbox One. It had a real professional look, a UI that makes the current one feel boring, the controller was good, and the games were good early on too. I much preferred it over the PS4 in the first two years.
I'm not sure about that, Dungeons was terrible. Legends is pretty decent.
Mojang weren't the main developers for Minecraft Legends.
