They were under pressure to release it this year, another reason not to announce games too early.
Still not a fair comparison, Justin. Assassin's Creed doesn't have much of an interactive world, and is probably comparable to that of Ghost of Tsushima. Don't even get me started on Watch Dogs. The best comparison would be Skyrim or Fallout... and even then Cyberpunk is far more dense, with more complex quests.
Not trying to defend the base versions of the game, they aren't acceptable, but it's vastly more complex than any other game this year.
Imagine the outrage if they delayed it again. I think it's best to accept that this is such a large and complex game, that issues were inevitable. Most of them will be patched in time.
I know Bethesda isn't everyone's favourite developer these days, but people happily put up with these sorts of issues with Fallout 3&4 and Skyrim, with many people calling each of them game of the year. I don't see why we're suddenly expecting a far higher level of pol...
Which is why Ghost of Tsushima won the player's choice...
I guess that's what happens when actual gamers only get 10% of the vote.
The Last of Us 2 won every award it was nominated for, including best story... Then giving Abby's actor best performance of the year... It's like they were taunting people who disliked what they did with the story. What a joke of a show, and not just for that.
Sounds like the hype was too much for it, if this was a new game by an unknown studio you can be sure critics would have been kinder to it.
They did well enough with their two most recent Star Wars games.
This invalidates the entire review.
Trying to sell the game with Abby? She's probably the most hated character of the entire PS4 generation
Of course, why wouldn't he be?
It's really not worth it, just wait 6-9 months and stock should be more available by then. The PS4 will be supported for years to come, Spider Man and Horizon are confirmed to be going to it.
The lack of stock sucks. But it's not worth losing your mind over, or paying double the retail price for.
The controller's fine, there's a reason they haven't changed it much. The 360 and Xbox One had better controllers than PS3 and PS4.
Ori should have a shot at best art direction.
I assume it doesn't qualify for most of the awards, as it's essentially the same as it was in 2009. I assume it could be nominated for best graphics or sound though.
Maybe. But some games do look boring on video, and are actually great to play. Best to wait and see what reviewers and players have to say about it.
Why does a 2/10 have to be unplayable? It could just be a bad game in the reviewers eyes. If a 5/10 is average, then you certainly could justify scoring a bad game a 2.
It sounds like you're suggesting Duke Nukem Forever was a bad game, since that's your example... So why would you rate it as above average? If it's that bad, surely a 2/10 wouldn't be off the table.
I dislike their new 10 point score system, mainly because game outlets like IGN are reluctant to give out scores any less than a 7. This means an 8 becomes average, and it effectively becomes a 4 point score system (7-10) for AAA games. I still believe there is a big difference between a 9 and a 9.5.
If you haven't played Demon's Souls already then sure... Otherwise it's not much better than usual, especially since most of them are on PS4 too.
Well at least Cyberpunk can be fixed. You can't fix the trainwreck that is The Last of Us 2.
