I don't have an Oled TV, but I'll be passing on it as well. My girlfriend has a regular Switch, which will work just fine for the handful of games coming out that I'm interested in playing on Switch.
People that care about portability more so than they value a quality experience. I don't get it personally, but portability is apparently pretty important to a lot of people.
...or the overpriced inferior hardware, or the anti-consumer pricing model and garbage online support.
Unless Nintendo get brazen and ramps up their already anti-consumer practices, they'll be just fine. They're like Apple used to be, you could put the nintendo logo on a rock and people would line up to buy it. Competition is good though, I won't be buying either one, though I will be borrowing my girlfriend's switch when SMTV comes out. Good luck to steam, the console market is unbelievably competitive though, you can't just buy your way in, just ask the most powerful corp...
The game had a massive budget and was massively (perhaps too much so) ambitious. Despite the smear campaign, its still managed 15 million sales. I don't know what you're smoking if you think they have 20 people working on this, lol.
Nice. Love this game, glad I stopped listening to the astroturf hate campaign and gave it a shot (on PC). I hope they do something similar to Witcher 3 DLC, I'll buy day 1. I know this is heresy here (I expect to get a 10:1 downvote:upvote ratio for this comment, lol), and we're all supposed to destroy CDPR's reputation for this game, but I thought it was phenomenal. Doubled dipped for the PS5 too, so hopefully they are working on the next gen update as well. Be interesting to see...
Had to be intentional, lol. If so, grade A trolling.
@hectorius Calling people "kid" is not a good look, and it's cringe. You probably wouldn't talk like that in real life, so why do it online? That's why I downvoted you.
At 720p/30fps? Sure. Game scaling also seems to be improving in recent years as well. I would argue that playing like this is the least ideal way to play a game, but for some portability is paramount, so we'll see how they do. The real issue will be getting their foot in the extremely competitive market. I'm not even sure Xbox would have stuck around if Sony hadn't completely blown the ps3 launch, releasing it a year later and at a much higher price tag than the 360, effectively l...
@chief "Stop the cap!"
Let's examine the situation here. Two console developers, both dealing with supply constraints. One has huge demands all across the globe, and is outselling the other at least 2:1, the other is really only relevant in one region. One company has to meet the massive demand with their limited supply across many regions, whilst the other can focus most of their supply in the only place that really wants it. Let's be honest, it's tough to get ...
Not surprising when you consider that you can go into a store and buy a Switch. They effectively have no competition when you consider the hardware shortages.
Continue to focus their supply on their only relevant market, rather than spread it out across the globe like Sony is forced to? I don't think it's a coincidence that its easier to get an Xbox than it is a PS5. If the demand for your product is concentrated mostly in a single region, whilst your competitor who is outselling you due to demand across the globe, it's not hard to connect the dots when you factor in global sales numbers.
A clever idea, but probably less nefarious, i.e. MS prioritizing stock in the only market they're competitive in, or simpler yet, the demand is less overall for their consoles due to their market being almost exclusively in the US, so they are pumping out all of their stock where it makes sense to. Would explain why it's easier to get an Xbox than a PS5 in the US. I mean, PS5 is outselling Xbox by a pretty large margin, the simple explanation would seem to be that MS can simply focus ...
I admire your optimism.
What do you think is going to happen from now on when a game that's not assassin's creed 72, or some mind numbing looter shooter gets pitched to publishers? They're gonna laugh, and say "After what they did to CDPR? Yeah...No."
"fiasco"
Astro-turfed smear campaign, it's just absurd, haven't you guys obsessed about this enough already? I absolutely loved the game, they don't need to buy back any good will from me, I happily bought it for PC and PS5. Considering the game has sold 15 million copies in spite of quite literally an unprecedented attempt to destroy it, I think they'll be okay without your "good will". Maybe try playing the game on its own merits rather than some...
Well, they basically don't have any competition at the moment. People can go out and buy a Switch, not really the case with the other consoles.
Everything is political now, for better or worse. Gone are the days when corporations simply created a product, they now offer an ethical agenda, at no extra charge ;)
Not surprising though, is it? No one every complains about Nintendo. They never receive any kind of pressure from the consumer base to do better, so why would they?
*eyeroll*
We get it...you're so virtuous.
