Why would Activision own Geometry Wars? The IP's and everything would likely go with them assuming Activision wants a good price.
Bizarre is one of the developers that really made the Xbox 360 for me with Project Gotham Racing 3/4 and Geometry Wars. PGR 3 introduced me to a great online community and a fantastic racing experience that really made my jaw drop at times. PGR 4 was great and graphically pretty impressive. A lot of the community features they had were pretty cool and definitely kept my interest in the game for a long time.

I've heard the employees at Budcat for one are getting some really nice severance packages so as long as they get them it isn't all bad. Quite a few developers don't even get severance packages due to legal issues for quite some time after they are let go.
Bizarre is still around and on Activision's pay for at least another 3 months excluding severance that may follow.

Some good deals and other not so good deals. Fable: TLC is pretty tough to find at retail so $9.99 is a pretty decent deal. The great thing about not pledging fanboyism to any one digital distributor is you can shop around.
Steam, Impulse, GFWLM, Beamdog, Good Old Games, etc, who ever has the better deal on a title I want digitally gets my money.

So far, I'm pretty disappointed with Black Ops campaign wise. Treyarch used to be the COD developer who actually took their stories kind of seriously. With Black Ops, it seems they've pulled an IW and are attempting to appeal to the Bay audience 100%.

sidar: No...in the way the ads conveyed story and just the overall action theme. The Halo adverts that are live action use similar themes and it's the closest one can really relate it to when looking at game ads.
Fillion does look kind of like Drake, I don't know much about his acting ability asides from VG voice work though so I can't comment on that end.

Hunh? Wouldn't this actually work in Kotick's favor? He is basically saying Activision isn't following companies like EA and THQ who have implemented things like the "online pass" which essentially make those used titles not worth buying at all.
And depending on the game, you might only have a restricted license. Take PC games with CD keys for instance, you can't really sell them or share them around without restrictions getting you.
Used car sales do not work. Companies like Ford, Honda, etc have their own used car dealerships that they operate. They also make money on repairs, part replacements, etc.
The most used games can make their money on is DLC or some other premium attributed to them.
The future? Why not act against those who are doing so now [EA/THQ Pass] and setting an example for the future!
Certain games only use color to differentiate choices and not anything else.
Recent example: Fable III mini games. If you've never used a "colored" controller before you might not know which buttons correspond to which color.
Stupid move on Microsoft's side IMO and perhaps the only draw back to the new controller.
The main benefits are usually to be reaped at the original price point though.
It's a shame, I haven't played Metroid: Other M but it seems like it's a pretty cool game. The ads for it were pretty cool, they felt very "Haloish" in presentation with the use of live action.

Not related to the topic but Freedom of Speech doesn't mean you can do what ever you want contrary to public belief. There are rules and limitations.

Germany didn't need to do anything, the games were already pre censored before even arriving in the country. I think they were censored in Japan as well.
