I'm more surprised at how close the numbers are, usually third parties report huge gaps between consoles. Midway is definitely doing something right.
Hardcore rarly sells on the Wii, they shouldn't do anything Wii exclusive but I guess farming things out won't hurt. Casual is the key for Midway when it comes to Nintendo platforms, Ubisoft isn't pumping out kick ass Tom Clancy titles because they sell up the ass...

It was a good game, not the best in the series but definitely a good game. Also factor in the Batman appeal of 2008 with the release of TDK and the fact that the fighter is returning in the eyes of many.

Better question is, until people start buying consoles specifically because of a product, why bother spending R&D on a answer? Sure Home is cool and all, but is it really enough to push people to the PS3 and the competition to retaliate?
Some members of the original KI team are still at Rare I believe, Rare is still a pretty good studio, a majority of their Microsoft games have done really well at retail and with reviewers.
MK: A was pretty good and feature rich, not sure how you would want a fighting game to push a console. 60 FPS in a fighting game on the Unreal Engine 3 is a pretty big feat mind you.

Dude, you just need to pay a fee and you get a GDC pass, you don't need any special credentials for one. Regardless even if he did go what makes you so sure he would know? Do you really think developers would tell anyone all their secrets?

Mortal Kombat: Unchained is also another kick ass PSP title, I know they have a MK game on the DS as well, just not sure how well it worked.

Third party games sell only if they're casual remember, I agree both PC and PSP sales are disappointed. Maybe if Midway supports Steam and other services more the number can increase.
