Since it was SCEA I guess it only includes America (North America?), but don't quote me on that.
They sold most of them, Midway actually owns the second original Atari so perhaps when Atari gets the cash they could buy them back?
Actually they qualify the Arcade on their site has a PC exclusive in their filings.
Correct, especially when the console is ontrack to making a profit the way things are going, don't let bedroom market analysts tell you anything different.
Shinobi has been re-release so many times, I'm sure everyone has at least 10 different copies of almost every Sega Genesis era game.
Plus, they have re-released the Genesis so many times, you can pick one up for $20 new that will have built in games and full backwards compatibility with your cartridges.
Imagine playing a RTS game on the Surface, it would be like the first trailer they released for Endwar where the general was commanding his troops using the touch screen table.
I play PC games from time to time but I'm never interested in seeing the best, my rig is able to handle most things I throw it at so it doesn't look horrible.
LOTRO, Hour of Victory (kinda), Midway Arcade Treasures seires, Rise & Fall, there could be more.
Unfortunate how it had to come to this, Midway had some pretty good PC exclusives over the past 2-3 years.
NG II was not a mediocre game, it was better then that, not great mind you but better than mediocre.
Why does the plague have to be black?
;)
Genesis5: The day Midway strikes back at Kotaku for all those bullshit hit pieces :p
The only thing I would want is backwards compatibility, even software will work!
They do, its available in Canada and maybe in Europe as well.
My laptop (Toshiba Qosmio G50) has a CELL chip, its useless because their is absolutely NO support for it after launch. :(
I believe Toshiba released a set last fall that had the CELL chip in it, I was really close to buying it but they ran out and I didn't want to wait a week for a new shipment...worst decision ever (in comparison to the LG I bought) :(
Bomb? I doubt that, it sold over 2 million units and in its first year on retail already took market share away from companies like Toshiba and Samsung IIRC.
Not to mention the music service even made Apple look back, most notably the Zune Pass that lets you keep your music if you subscribe.
Sure it didn't live up to the hype, but I wouldn't say it failed by any means.
Capcom? Don't they mean Sega?
They sure loved the game!
I for one am excited to see a true next gen Mortal Kombat complete with fatalities and such.
I agree, gamers these days are spoiled and have no idea how much these companies have contributed to the gaming industry. Midway's been around since 1958, they have experience and ips, so what if they goof up one time in their 50+ year history, everyone gets a few mistakes?
Thanks for the compliment, we try to do our best. Bubbles for you! :)
Edit: The same could be said about other companies conference calls, 10-K's, etc that often have multiple stories attached...
Its still a bit unclear, yes it does say 30 days but does it cover the full 30 days? Or could it been something like selling 500k in a week with time left over?
