^^^Just under 50 people left during the Respawn controversy, Infinity Ward had over 100 employees before that. Most of the original team would still be at the company then.

The developer support Microsoft provides for PC game development is among the highest in the industry. The MSDN library is full of information and tools to help with ports or native development. The XNA framework puts a heavy emphasis on creating PC titles along with what ever other platform you choose. If you're a bedroom developer, they also provide various development/starter kits to make development faster and easier. All of this for free.

They've been doing it fo...

Statements, especially those which get the fanboys all up hyped come from Greenburg. A Tweet about NPD facts from a company employee is hardly bragging the way other Sony, Microsoft, etc executives do.

Major Nelson isn't the one who talks about sales (rarely does), that's Aaron Greenburg (it's part of his job afterall).

At least get your people right...

Oh really? I didn't realize all those studios were shut down last year as you claim. Feel free to check my comments history if you like, I was and still am very vocal about the closure of MGS studios dating back to Digital Anvil.

Where's your proof that Blur made a profit? The fact that it was in development for so long, used licensed cars (a first for a game like that), didn't meet royalty targets, etc does not bode well.

Which games studios did Microsoft close last year?

And you're honestly blaming the closure of Krome and RTW's on Microsoft? Take off the tin foil hats, all of Krome's big 2010 titles pretty much failed at retail, I think potential investments they had either didn't make it through or weren't enough.

Real Time Worlds closed because they sank $100 million into an MMO that,

1. Didn't review well
2. Had issues

Do you even know what shovelware means? Kinect Sports is far from shovelware buddy...

People these days throw around words all the time like they know what they mean!

Still need to try the demo but I think it's only third person in cover.

COD has always been about arcadey action, the health packs used to add in some skill but it's really the same game beyond that. Before Black Ops Treyarch's games were somewhat more serious but they still had some ridiculous moments in them.

Remember that level in Call of Duty where you're out running German tanks, infantry, etc in a busted up French car while your guy is hanging half way out the passenger window mowing down who ever he can?

Your loss, High Moon Studios makes awesome games and they've made the best Transformers [War for Cybertron] game in years.

The rights have been licensed to Smith & Tinker, not sold.

Would you have prefered if they just turned MechWarrior or MechCommander into MechAssault then? The gameplay styles are different, it's good they branched the series for something console oriented intsead of just shifting the entire series that way.

Two years of development time for each title isn't good enough?

Unfortunately, most don't realize that.

That's bull and I dare you to find proof!

Have we already forgotten about the huge sums of money Activision wanted to put into Modern Warfare 2 development but Infinity Ward refused and made with a smaller budget?

Foliage: The staff that run those two publications are completely different. Future publishes all sorts of magazines, I don't see how them having official magazines for the major consoles is a big deal especially when the staff are independent of each other.

Why don't you link to Cliff's statement then?

The actual development could cost less, it's the advertising and such that tallies up the costs. And how could Uncharted 2's price tag logic not apply with Gears of War?
