From a publisher/business standpoint its always better to make roughly $1B in sales on a yearly basis than waiting for a GTA release. So I can see where he got the crazy notion big business loves the cashflow.
GTA though is the game I would rather have on my résumé. CoD has its place and nothing against those that make/play it annually but GTA is just... more. Every game is an evolution of itself and not as much as a rehash (IMO).
Both are owned by the same people though which is probably what gets people mixed up.
I can't wait for this game--just got an English copy of the book finally and playing Metro 2033 again as well (forgot how hard it is at times even on normal). I actually hope they keep it a challenge and ammo sparse but no quite so bullet sponge heavy (crossing bridge at War sucks... bad).
I agree as a good gameplay video will likely sell me on it or not. I was curious what it would be like back when I first heard about it when a dev basically made a mod from DI to show the concept and so far I'm liking what I see.
I doubt it will be on the level of an ES game but hopefully they looked at it for inspiration for combat (among other games: Dark Messiah of Might and Magic being one as had some cool things about it even if flawed). Add in some Dead Island li...
They said support, not making it required. The next sentence says its up to publishers so its simply an option. The PS4 has alluded to the same and its common practice on PC (where publishers have had free reign pretty much since the beginning).
Unfortunately this means some publishers will either be doing it or closely watching how it is accepted.
My bet Ubisoft will be one as they have Ubiplay which has achievements and awards that are at times cross plat...
Console optomization 'might' get you one wicked looking fish tank simulator but not a real game on top of that level of physics rendered realtime.
They could water it down some (pardon the pun) similar to Borderlands 2 physx options (acid fluidity) but the difference would be huge on any reasonably scaled application of it. What techdemos usually show (especially by 'tech' companies) are rarely viable for years to come outside of smaller applications (Tressfx...
Totally agree--have it preordered on steam already and possible sdk support is awesome news.
I may have to rent it on PS4 though as I probably won't mind playing it again at some point and just want to see how it runs on next gen hardware. That is when other games don't monopolize my free time. Still, great news for Sony fans and have a feeling we will likely see it on next Xbox at some point as well then.
That might not be so bad actually. DS has grown quite a bit lately and although sometimes a little rough around the edges they publish some enjoyable games.
I just want to find out who got what and hopefully nothing good was left for scrap.
Only way I would want anything physx related would be if more optimized version. The tech is cool but there are also other companies with comparable or better ways to do the same thing.
When it worked right it was a nice touch but at times performance loss was huge for no apparent reason. Next gen with new hardware hopefully most games (multiplatform was most common) can have the physics built in and not tacked on for PC and unoptimized.
They could but more likely they will be under an NDA still.
However they could allude to it as you can bet somewhere in there next gen consoles will find a roundabout way of being mentioned (even if just about a "Jaguar based apu" as PS4 and rumored Xbox both use it).
It pretty much a guarantee PS4 comes up anyways as a stable supply will be required as the console comes out and continues to garner a wider market. Its too big not to be mentioned in...
The truth is Live wasn't down, however for some it was inaccessible.
The problem was/is if you cannot log on you can't access Live and therefore the many apps that require it. If you were online before sign-in problems or were outside of the affected area you were fine. Those of us that were not on in time were denied access due to login failures taking place and not Live actually being "down". The effect was the same however.
I was one o...
@Kabaw: Thanks, been awhile since had to actually think about one or the other and stupid mistake ;) Even more so when I think about it as whole reason its called a "quote".
You need some parantheses--"always on" time. I got what you meant though ;)
A good game is a good game, no matter the IP.
I am mostly just curious at this point as if its Fallout I'm all for it and if Tango's game I want to know what the creator of Resident Evil is up to ;) Plus if it is Tango then its a different studio so Fallout is likely still in the works.
Wolfenstein is still a possibility as well--Operation Sunflower was North African deployment of German troops in WW2 (tie in with age of record of last teaser).
Looks like a warehouse in background and a barechested, red-ish skinned guy (natural or colorbled by fire is unknown) wearing either a jacket or coat of some kind (head is covered by the flower). With as weird as both teasers have been wouldn't be surprised if teaser for Tango's new game as it looked pretty out there.
I was wondering what specs were going to be and other than optimum I'm set (serious gfx card reccomendation for optimum). However if sli profile is good I should be fine (which is not a given lately, for launch anyways).
It would make sense--the question is what type of Wolfenstein as its not been the most consistent franchise (other than Nazi shooter with occult/sci-fi themes). I never finished the last one although I enjoyed the idea (city story hub that main story broke off of). It allowed for more linear missions on top of some interesting on the street action (Rage in a sense expanded the idea making for much larger outer "hub" but still had some more linear "dungeons" equivalent to...
I think it looks the most "next gen" (although multi-gen) as we haven't seen enough Infamous to make a real guess on how it will play (probably not too different) and Killzone looks great from a technical/graphical standpoint but the short video still looks entirely "today" in terms of gameplay mechanics.
The level of in-game environment/character interaction of Watchdogs though is just something very new which we haven't seen before which sets it ...
I agree about everything but top 5--but that's always subjective anyways ;)
Its a great game though.
I can't wait for Metro... less than 2 weeks now. I hope its as good as the first. It looks great although not quite as rustic and decayed as the original either. I guess after original ended they cleaned up a bit... oh well. In the book though each Metro was more varied so it could just be different stations' contrasting approaches towards post apocolyptic living (Original game was more universally claustrophobic and full of decaying environments/spirits).
I hope ...
