A handful of of frame rate drops = a handful of frame rate drops and only twice in combat the whole game for me. But please tell me what my experience was again.

I'm glad you think some frame rate issues completely nullify the fantastic atmosphere, level design, world building, lore, and combat of two incredible games tho, that's definitely not a massive overreaction.

Isn't this question normally asked before a game comes out and sells a ton of copies.

Because the game is phenomenal, I also didn't have as many issues as some others are reporting, I'm willing to overlook a handful of frame rate drops when the rest of the game is so good.

1. More Borderlands after waiting 7 years for more Borderlands is what many people, including myself were wanting. Especially after endless articles asking what Borderlands 3 could learn from games like Destiny and Division, games that are fundamentally different in their structure, moment to moment gameplay, and goal for the player but for some reason games media have it drilled in their brain that Borderlands needed to take anything from those mediocre, hollow, grindy GAAS games, I'm so...

Yes I believe Control is GOTY quality. It is currently my GOTY and one of my favorite third person shooters of all time. It's artistically and atmospherically incredible, it's combat is incredibly smooth and addictive, and it is set in a very unique world with interesting lore and stories.

I have not played Astral Chain but I was very clear with my words. Watching the first few trailers for each game I would have never bet in a million years that Astral Chain would review better. Astral Chain screams 7/10 to me.

@IamTylerDurden

Do you not see the ignorance in your comment.......
You say Remedy exclusives on Xbox didn't fit the "Xbox agenda" whatever that means. But we are literally on an article talking about how a multiplat Remedy didn't sell well......

@King_Noctis
I love how people love to bring up metacritic when it supports their point but act like it's the worst thing to happen to the industry when it doesn't.

But for me Control is a AAA super atmospheric, super unique narrative driven story. While Astral Chain is a generic anime character action game with alright graphics. Astral Chain isn't even Platinum best or most interesting Nintendo exclusive imo.

I don't know to b...

@CrimsonPheonix

If you think Control looks drab you must not have played or watched much of Control at all. Some of the atmospheric, artistic, and narrative elements of that game are incredible. Some of the altered items and objects of power missions alone are so incredibly unique and interesting.

Dishonored, Wolfenstein, Prey, Deus Ex, Control ect all atmospheric narrative action/shooters that got critical acclaim and sold poorly.

I mean the fact that football casino and Shark Card store are above a game with actual artistic effort put into it shows how few gamers actually speak with their wallet.

No Control, shame gamers don't support narrative AAA SP games like they pretend to beg for online....

Control is so much better than Astral Chain it's laughable.

I mean I'd still play an Origins sequel and I don't doubt it could be good. However I disagree about the vast possibilities, a
post-Origins, pre-Asylum game would be the most limiting time period they could explore imo. We already know where all these characters end up. Origins struggled to gain respect and recognition and felt like a side game due to not being made by Rocksteady and due to the fact they couldn't take many risks with it being a prequel, so many peoples t...

I mean I'm definitely enjoying what I've played so far but I wouldn't even say it's the best Xbox exclusive let alone taking PS4 or Switch into account. I can name probably 10-15+ exclusives this gen I prefer but I'll still get called a MS or Gears fanboy for this comment I'm sure.

I'm not even referring to the article just the headline and the fact this writer apparently thinks Gears 5 is the best exclusive this gen. But I just love how someone...

Honestly one of the worst pieces of video game content I've ever read. After the headline made such a strong statement in terms of how the author felt about the game I went into the article expecting to see a lengthy piece detailing those thoughts but no there's actually very little content in the article. Which wouldn't be a problem if it was a series of tweets titled "Passing thoughts of a Destiny fan playing Borderlands for the first time". Instead it comes across far...

Ok, I don't fully disagree with that, I just don't think with the nature of how the playable characters interact and speak throughout the game especially in co-op that the character development potential isn't near what it is with those characters in NPC roles. I'm not sure it's even a lack of writing talent more than it is a lack of writing opportunity. If that makes any sense.

I agree with what your saying with the backstories of vault hunters I would...

2324d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

The vault hunters from 1 had way more character depth and development as main characters in 2 and were used in ways they never could have been in 1.

Not sure what "other games do it" proves? Not sure what other first person co-op looter shooter/dungeon crawler has great character development for their playable characters to the extent you can have if the characters are NPC's integral to the story.

2324d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

I thought Borderlands 2 did a great job of moving on to new vault hunters while incorporating the vault hunters from the first into the narrative. To say they're thrown out is a bit absurd when the entire narrative of 2 revolves around them and their characters progressing from the first... And 3 seems no different from 2 in how it incorporates the previous games vault hunters into the story in meaningful and unique ways. I mean it was awesome finding out Lilith was the Firehawk or Brick ...

Correction, microtransactions won't ever go away while IDIOTS spend 100's and 100's of millions of dollars on MT's and lootboxes in sports games.

Ive already said this in response to a similar comment here but. If it doesn't run smoothly, look right, play as good, if the camera is wonky in all the tight indoor spaces is that not taking you out of the game ie causing you to be less immersed? If they know third person for whatever reason is not up to par, why keep it in, only for the internet to shred it for it's "half-baked" third person upon release?
