The common scenario on the Internet of calling someone a retard and then typing like one is something that I will never be able to understand.

If I didn't already own it for the NES, I'd buy this all over again. Those first three Ninja Gaiden games were the bane of my early gaming existence. Great times.

Edit: Also, I'm surprised as hell as to how this made the front page of N4G. A completely misleading headline alongside a completely inaccurate photo all so that someone can masturbate to people falling for his ruse. It doesn't really give any credit to N4G as a legitimate gaming news aggregate.

Wow, chauvanistic, much? I mean, did you really need to type that in such a way to get around the censor? Maybe you should have thought your comment out more... appropriately.

I DO have a mother like that, as I had stated earlier, and I love her and respect her more for making sure that I was raised correctly. This kid is lucky.

Why would you not call the cops on your own child, Bigmac? Have you ever been in such a situation? We obviously do not know all of the facts. Perhaps she wanted her child to actually see the repercussions of his criminal actions? I don't really see anything wrong with that, personally. If a child thinks he can get away with theft for minimal repercussions, then what is to prevent him from doing so again in the future?

I really don't understand why everyone seems to be against the mother in this. Now I don't know anything more than what the article is presenting, but in the context of said article, the 16 year old son committed a crime, and was well aware of the fact that what he had done was wrong. Therefore I don't see any reason why the mother should NOT have turned her son over to the police. Kids don't need to be coddled now a days, despite what they want to think. You do the crime, you pay the time, a...

Mate, when I was seven years old I tried stealing something from the local supermarket. My mother found out and marched my behind right to the manager of the store, who ripped me a new one, and threatened me with legal action. I learned right then and there that stealing was WRONG.

At 16 years old this kid should know the difference between right and wrong, and if he doesn't (as is obvious by his poor attempt at hiding the fact that he had stolen the game system) then I don't t...

How the HELL is that derogatory? Lesbo is an island in Greece. It's an ISLAND. It's been around for thousands of years. This dad needs some edumication.

Not that I want to be the one to defend Mart, but he's got a point. If this guy is getting his data from Metacritic, then one could easily enough spin the PS3's numbers as well - only 1 game above 90%, over 25% of its games scoring beneath 70%, and less games out on the market than the Wii, all from a system which supposedly everyone wanted and would herald the dawn of the high definition gaming era.

Spin is spin, there's no reason for it to be news, or for anyone to get their ...

If you've ever seen Haloid ( http://www.gametrailers.com... then you'd know that neither of them would win, and that they would just fly away and make sweet, sweet love to each other.

You have GOT to be kidding me. The kid was obviously aware that what he was doing was "wrong" by the school standards, and was ready to accept the consequences. Now there is none. What a great message to send out to him.

Maddens Raiders -
Wait, did you just actually say "Haloalldaylo"? I mean, as a form of an insult? Seriously, mate, you are in no way improving the image of Sony fanboys.

I think it was stated a couple of months ago by the creators of the games that there would be no "direct sequel" to what we already have.

Wow, that's badass! I wonder how the game will be improved, being that Populous was used as a stepping stone for many other "world/city" builder games.

Wasn't this list already posted yesterday here, and had its accuracy doubted?

Neither Velvet Revolver or Atreu have songs on that list, and I think we can all agree that "Devil Went Down To Georgia" - while a kick-ass song in its own right - has no reason to be in this game, being primarily focused upon... well, fiddling.

He owns the store, thus he can say what does and does not happen inside of his store, as long as it isn't breaking any laws. Refusing service to someone is completely legal, but many retail stores don't do that because it "looks bad". Personally, I wish MORE stores flexed that right of theirs.

Now that doesn't mean I think this guy did something good - it just means that he was in his right to do so. Unfortunately for him, GameStop sets the policy for his store, not ...

Something tells me that you don't have a foot to stand on to judge this guy.

Well, I don't know anyone that says "I want to be a GameStop manager when I grow up". Retail sucks, and there's no sugar-coating that. I, for one, appreciate that instead of just giving up and doing absolutely nothing, this guy chose to do SOMETHING. He's no corporate drone. Now, it doesn't mean that what he did was right, or that he couldn't have chosen something else to do, but I find it r...

Drat, this was supposed to be a reply to ReBurn.

Actually I WISH more retail stores would exercise their right to refuse service to anyone. This guy does not have to sell a video game to people he doesn't want to sell to as long as he isn't being discriminatory. And I can imagine it'd be pretty difficult in a legal stance to try and say the guy was discriminating against "stupid kids".

I think it's rather harsh to want to fire this guy for trying to take care of a problem. True, he didn't do it very well, but at least he tried.

That, and a manager DOES have the right to refuse service to anyone. They just can't discriminate. So he has every right in the world to tell a little twerp that he won't be buying any games from his GameStop.
