Aw crap, where's Legendary!? I hope it didn't get pushed back again. :(
You certainly live up to your name, don't you? Why paint with such a blatantly and absurdly large brushstroke?
To El_Colombiano:
Perhaps you should stop spouting tired old shameful rhetoric such as "next gen" and "real" games, and enjoy the fact that The Conduit looks to be a promising first person shooter experience on the Wii with great graphics, controls and gameplay.
Your "next gen" isn't going to happen for a few more years, so you might as well enjoy the good games that are coming out for this current generation of consoles.
Hey, speak for yourself, mate. I'm very eager for this game!
On what grounds? Unless the new game flat out copies puzzles and characters and whathaveyou from Professor Layton, then nothing has been done wrong.
"Blood" looks and plays like "Doom", and has a similar name. "Gothic" looks and plays like "Morrowind". So on and so forth.
I'm just saying that there's no need to get in a twist about this, as it's most likely perfectly legal and happens all of the time.
What exactly does your statement have to do with anything?
Okay, so it will will look good "for the Wii". And this means... what? What kind of amazing revelation have you brought to light that hasn't been mentioned before? A good looking game is going to be a good looking game, regardless. I seem to remember, and continue to play, a number of beautiful games released on the Xbox, PS2, and Gamecube, and the Wii's capabilities are beyond those.
Seriously thou...
Um... You hope who will sue who and for what reason? Lawsuits do not work the way you are thinking. If I make a game called "Dynomite" does that give the producers of "Good Times" a right to sue me? I think not, mate.
Just accept it, don't make such a big deal out of a video game, and move on with life.
At one point in time EverQuest was THE MMORPG that everyone knew about. It was the only MMORPG worth playing and everyone who was anyone had a character on it. It went on for years as the King of Massively Multiplayer Online Games.
Now who talks about it? Who plays it? Who remembers it? It wasn't but a few years ago that World of Warcraft knocked EverQuest off its throne. So who is to say that can't happen again?
Ah yes, vNES - "Making piracy easy for the lazy and pathetic".
In Response to Yanikins:
Wait, we're talking about Nintendo now? :p
"...stating that the new title will ~literally~ 'blow people away'."
If the game is "literally" going to blow me away, then BioWare is going to be facing a lot of lawsuits from the families of gamers murdered by the game disk.
People need to quit saying "literally" when they don't really mean it.
That being said, I'm running through my sixth playthrough on Mass Effect, and I am very excited about a sequel to this great game....
How in the world can you say that you are "guilt free" when you "own" a game that you haven't actually paid for, or has been given to you as a gift?
Though I will probably be in a small minority on this partiuclar site, I believe that there is nothing wrong with what Nintendo has done. There is absolutely nothing preventing these people with modded Wiis from purchasing the game. If they have an illegal copy of it, and chose not to buy the game for any reason whatsoever, then it remains illegal. If they purchase the game, even if they can't play the actual version, then at least they have done the right thing. Not that these people are ove...
To be perfectly fair, Nintendo is not marketing Wii Fit to obese people, nor are they saying that the game will make you loose weight. They are simply marketing it to people who want to be more active with their families and encourage healthy activities. Nintendo isn't "preying" on anyone, and the fact that you think this is rather disturbing.
Not that I really want to inflate that annoying "USA is Number One!" mentality of yours, but you do realize that the Wii is swiftly catching up to the XBox 360 in terms of number of consoles sold in America (currently about 2 million away, I think), and has already toppled the XBox 360 in worldwide sales, right?
I was very well aware of your opinion about the game and never stated that your opinion was wrong. I merely pointed out that calling something childish and then going and acting like a child wasn't going to encourage anyone to actually pay attention to your opinion.
And of course you're able to type in whatever way that you want. However you should be prepared for the type of reaction that your particular method of typing brings. I think you'll find that you'll get your point ac...
You can, of course, believe what you will. I was merely stating that your comment seemed to lack any point or coherence, aside from being an offense to the English language itself.
Look at it this way - you can't really go around telling people that something is childish, and then go and act like a child yourself. It just invalidates your comments.
You've got to stop letting your cat type for you, mate. And if that wasn't your cat typing, then might I recommend eating more fish? Studies show that eating fish can help strengthen your mental capabilities.
Two thumbs up for Kirby 64! Great game right there, and well worth the money.
Er... wow.
You know, it's one thing to say, "Kotaku is a biased gaming blog towards (your anti-fanboy system of choice), and I'd much rather prefer reading (some other gaming blog of choice)".
But to go and have some sort of spastic episode on your keyboard like this, detailing the evils of A FREAKING GAMING BLOG shows some sort of deep-rooted neurosis. I just have the feeling that this guy is treating Kotaku like it's his ex-girlfriend who dumped him for...
