It's not silly, that was the only generation Microsoft had the more powerful console. My point was power is awesome, but not the deciding factor in and of itself.

Well only the OG Xbox had more powerful hardware than Playstation rival console and we know how that turned out. But to be honest when both companies launch consoles in the same year like normal the power difference is never anything major, and it always gets blown out of proportion compared to the actual noticeable effect we see when actual games release. Two amazing consoles with tons of promise, two different emphasis on where to focus their respective advantages, let's just be excited...

It's fun speculating. We know sony has gone for more customization and the ridiculous ssd. Microsoft went for traditional raw power and made a monster of a console. There's tradeoffs, and all we can do is speculate how the numbers will convert to actual gameplay. I'm a huge Playstation fan and was going to buy the PS5 regardless. I'll tip my hat to Microsoft though, they are bringing amazing hardware and appear to be stepping it up in the software department as well. Should be...

I'll be honest I was disappointed at first because I didn't understand the benefit of the trade offs they made with the design. After doing some research I'm absolutely stoked. PS5 seems like a genius design.

Finally we can get innovation in gameplay. Next gen won't just be shinier, and I can't freaking wait.

Multiplats will play great. 1st party games will push gameplay forward. Diminishing returns on visuals are hitting harder now, gameplay needs to be the primary focus and that's exactly what Sony has focused on. Time to evolve game design instead of investing in hardware that pulls marginally better framerates and resolution. I'm happy with the decision.

LOL at people just talking about loading times. The ssd speed is meant to not only improve loading times, it will change level design possibilities. Sony has outsmarted everyone here. Can't wait for naughty dog and Santa Monica to showcase how intelligently designed the PS5 is. Not to mention the huge upgrade to audio.

People are seriously sleeping on sonys design decisions for the PS5. I think it's going to be a game changer for 1st party developers especially. Those extra Terra flops are going to slam into the diminishing returns wall, the ssd speeds will not. Just wait for the 1st wave of 1st party exclusives to highlight the difference for everyone lol

I think Microsoft has the raw power advantage sure, so we'll maybe see slightly higher res and framerates in some multiplats. Here's the thing, diminishing returns on visual fidelity are going to make the difference less obvious, especially mithout two tvs side by side and a magnifying glass. Sonys decision to focus on doubling that ssd speed is going to be very interesting. Seems the raw power is more than substantial AND that ssd speed will allow for innovation in actual game design...

You nailed it. With just one platform the library is abysmal. Where's the new Mario kart, Mario golf, metroid, etc it's a joke

That would be unreal

This can't be true... I want it to be true so badly but how can like every game I have my fingers crossed for all be announced at once? A new killzone is exactly what I need to scratch my MP itch please be true haha STOKED

To be honest, I'd rather feel like the new generations games are only possible on the new hardware or I'm less excited to upgrade. I'm happy about this news.

What a poor design lol where is that going to fit besides the floor?

Acquired ADD and the constant requirement for a dopamine fix every few seconds as a result of constant overstimulation (social media, too many fast paced games, etc) will make it difficult for many people to dig into the brilliant layers DS has to offer. I'm loving it, it's such a nice contrast as I also work through BL3, Nioh, and Divinity right now. The variety is great.

Honestly, I love this game. It almost shouldn't be fun if you try to describe it out loud, but it's perfect for today's climate. Everyone has acquired ADD and it's nice to sit down with a game that forces you to slow down, think, enjoy the atmosphere, and really understand the importance of other people. It's not just a delivery simulator, and at the risk of sounding pretentious (I'm not trying to be) I'd say a lot of people truly can't cut to the core of what ...

That's a good idea

It's clearly a love it or hate it game, but majority of reviewers are scoring it incredibly high. Definitely keeping my pre-order, if nothing else I'm so curious how it plays out.

I am kicking myself for not pre-ordering this when it was on sale a few months ago. I hate ea but should have known Respawn would make something special. Cinematic, soulsbournish gameplay, platforming, puzzles, this looks incredible to me.

I don't really care. As soon as pre-orders open I'm locking in my order with PSVR2 if it's announced!
