Until the ports to PS4/Nextbox come November :P Wii-U will look once more like gamecube when the real next gen arrives.

I'll get both! PS4 for it's exclusives and a GPU like this for PC exclusives (yes there are some) + best graphics and OCULUS RIFT BABY!!! It needs a good GPU to drive it (THE OR).

You'll probably have to as sales for it aren't apparently going live till the 21st?

I'll be waiting on benchies before I decide

Well said. Crysis 1 was and still is awesome. Run and Gun it and it's boring, take your time and think about and you can spend hours lost in there.. total immersion like never before.

Now, just needs Oculus Rift support :)

You'll see once the REAL next gen is revealed by Sony exactly why Wii-U won't last long.

So many developers are now dropping out of working on it. What's the use of having more power than the PS3 (a... ooh 7? year old system) IF nobody is making games for it?

And when PS4 come along and is 4x more powerful than WiiU? Wii-U will have no reason to exist other than your mario, zelda 4 yearly updates :)

That would be a day one purchase for me right there!

I just wish they would tone down the route they went in U3 with the overlong 'cinematic' sections, and set pieces (rooftops, 'woozy' slow plodding section, desert) The actual gameplay parts felt more and more spaced out vs the AMAZING Uncharted 2. I also loved 1 for it's sense of exploration and discovery, but overall 2 was the best and 3 was the worst. All amazing games though and can't wait for #4 on the PS4 :)

And no I don't want them to reduce...

No!

Rendering, Oculus Rift (Virtual Reality - THIS year), Video Work, Development work.. there are many areas this card fits into.

If you only want to play Crysis 3 and BF3 then it MAY be overkill for you.

I'm buying one. Have skipped 5 Nvidia generations waiting for a single GPU card that is good enough for my needs. And only NOW has my 8800gtx (yes THAT old lol) stopped being useful (Crysis 3 won't even run on that)

It is a shame it'...

This puppy was MADE for OCULUS RIFT (which absolutely needs 60fps minimum with VSync on X 2) It's arrived just in time for my playing and software development needs.

I will be trying to buy one of these on day of release IF they don't all sell out too fast.

It really does feel replayable, solid and a bit of a funride! Super atmospheric too. That is more than enough to pleasantly surprise me. I couldn't believe when all the negative reviews started kicking in, and I know for a fact that negative reviews affect those yet to play, either they write it off without playing or go looking for faults mentioned in the overly critical reviews!

I *ALWAYS* judge games for myself and find I often disagree with 'pro' reviews both...

Agreed ACEMANWISE - I played it before i read ANY bad reviews, and I had no expectations other than a decent aliens atmosphere and it delivers that in spades!

I have very few complaints, it's solid and does the job. It's technically just above average to me but the aliens deal seals it. The closest I've felt to being in Hadley's Hope and for that I thank gearbox, politics aside.

Yup, same here - PS3 version is smooth as silk and mega atmospheric. Love it. Not bad for a 7/10 game (my score).

I would take this game over at least 10 over-hyped 9/10 games from the past year (that just annoy me with silly controls, bad gameplay and poor graphics) - this game is far from the worst offender. Honestly do not know what the reviewers have been drinking.

Agree 100% (other than your game choice, mine would be Uncharted and a mix of others).

PS3 has been a joy to own and use and will still be good enough to keep around even after PS4 arrives (as a handy 3D BluRay player and older game system)

Bring on PS4!!! :)

WII-U may be technically better than current gen consoles (not by much) but it's nowhere near as 'good' as any modern/decent PC - witness the DX10 mod + enhancements.

It's a decent/average game with a killer license and nice atmosphere. I have enjoyed playing every minute of it because I had no pre-conceptions going in.

7/10

GAME. IS. NOT. CRAP!

Play it yourself rather than read opinions. You are missing out.

4764d ago 3 agree4 disagreeView comment

well maybe it SHOULD have tried to be more, it's poor reception showed it didn't please many people but I'm happy if you got fun out of it. I believe they could have done a lot better based on their past games.

How would them focussing on making the best games they have ever made be a desire to 'see them fail'? I'm actually a lover of MANY of Nintendo's games, had SNES, GameCube, DS, Gameboy SP etc.. had some of my best gaming moments with Nintendo's games.

However it is not our fault if Nintendo have started to lose the plot when it comes to mainstream/core hardware is it? Hardware that is simply too costly for what it is and not desirable to 'core gamers...

4764d ago 1 agree4 disagreeView comment

how do you work that out? Nintendo can still exert their own quality control over their own software output. Sony/MS wouldn't stand in their way.

And btw Nintendo CAN make good/great games but other developers on other systems have no problems making them just as well and often better (Naughty Dog for example). For the kind of fairly simple (tech wise) games than Ninty push out I can't see any problem leveraging the power of 'better systems' just as other devl...
