I started playing Death Stranding right after its release, could spent around ~15hrs until I unfortunately had to stop.
This year, I was finally able to re-start and finish the game.
I personally think Death Stranding is such an underrated game in the books. I found it to be a true masterpiece.
I can't wait for the evolution of Death Stranding 2 and the Decima Engine now only being used for PS5 hardware.
Geez, a MGS4 remake, even a PS5/PS5 Pro Enhanced remaster would be SO f'n epic.
"That additional 30% cut that MS would have enjoyed from third-party software sales was also dwindling."
Well said.
I truly think this right there is the real challenge behind Gamepass, financially.
Creating enough new inflow of cash through subs while compensating the loss of the former 30% share + the compensation 3rds now receive for the day-one deal.
That must be quite challenging.
I haven't thought about that. Good point.
And that's only if the game hits break-even.
@PCKingz
Shouldn't you have upvoted me then?
Such a tiny signal of so much copium behind.
Playstation accounted for 64% of Xbox' revenue in December.

I actually agree.
And in case this lawsuit goes to court, I'd be really, really interested to, for the first time ever, to listen to the Playstation's lawyers explaination as to why the PSN store prices have to be so high.
When we all know, or at least ask ourselves, that physical copies have much more cost factors behind their way of distribution.
I've only had one stick drift too since PS2.
But two things make the difference for me:
• Stick drift is happening to Playstation controllers. You can't deny it.
• And: Sony COULD use better technology to erase that problem completely. But they don't. For obvious and anti-consumer reasons.
They should drop that revenue driven policy.
Even as a Playstationeer:
There are quite a bunch of things that Sony really should improve on. And their digital content policies and pricing definitely are one of them.
I really wished they'd push for a much consumer friendly platform policy overall, like better customer support, no stick drifting in their controllers, demos for everyone, better build quality of their headphones, etc., which would may lead to short-term revenue decreases.
...
Is there really any doubt that every single one of these alt accounts is created by the same individual over and over again?
It's stupidedly mind-boggling to me how much time and energy this person invests in creating all these different e-mail accounts to register multiple N4G accounts on a daily basis.
Seriously, it's insane, it's nuts.
I just can't believe that there's this single person living on this Earth somew...
While I agree on
• “Looking at the install base of Xbox, I think it’s natural to understand what they’re doing.”
I still can't help myself and personally view
• “I think it’s a win for PlayStation owners. They’re going to access to games they didn’t previously have access to,”
a bit differently.
Microsoft today owns +20 former multiplatform IPs that came with many of their acquisitions.
...
Nope, you're right, you can't.
But that's what the Miranda Rights are for, I guess.
So, what I am reading from this:
- "500 million MAU" + Zenimax + ABK + "Game of the Decade" Starfield + Indiana Jones + Stalker 2 + Call of Duty in Gamepass + Flight Sim
resulted in
• -7% total revenue (USD 6.6 billion)
• -29% hardware sales
• somewhere around +2% for "content"
for the Xbox division in the most important quarter of the financial year.
...
Oopsie, well, yeah, I should probably do that more often. 🤷🏼♂️
Thanks!
What's your prob?
I specifically said ... "and on Thursday".
Tommorrow State of Play, on Thursday Sony's/Playstation's Q3 report.
That's a pretty interesting week in Playstation territory, and I am excited for their numbers, probably crushing Xbox by a landslide.
I love the games.
Yet I like the business side of Playstation, too.
I'm pretty excited for Playstation's Q3 as I am confident they've had a very good one.
Which eventually helps creating new games.
And on Thursday, Sony's going to have their Q3 earnings report.
Pretty interesting week in Playstation territory.
Something about Wolverine would be so awesome!
I didn't watch or read any of the leaks back then. And I am SO much into the tune of the last Wolverine films. Dark, brutal, melancholic.
This could be epic Kratos fights in cities, bars & backyards.
What's interesting:
Losely speaking, with Xbox One they've tried it with the weakest hardware.
And with Series X they've tried it with the most powerful hardware at that time.
So they've done both ends of the spectrum. Yet the always valid conclusion remains:
Regardless the hardware power, it's always about games.
I want all this AI buzz to be used to finally improve the AI in games.
That's something I would like to see rather than talking about AI re-producing games.
