why is it important or even necessary to show what the screen looks like in any given situation?
Does it make a difference to anyone what it looks like?
it s "weigh in" not "weight in"
I see that happens a fair amount (Wii U being lest off the listed platforms) on various games when mentioned in articles/media.
Nintendo should be making sure it does not happen and when/if it does they make sure it gets corrected-
Sometimes (ok often) I wonder how much Nintendo cares about the Wii u (I own one so I hope they do)-
The Wii U seems to be the "red headed step child" no one wants at Nintendo-
Why would both MSFT and Sony strive for 1080 and 60 fps if it did not matter?
Why would they spend the resources to "upgrade" the specs, the graphics and the general performance of consoles each generation if it did not matter?
I don t own an Xbox or PlayStation, so my question is sincere and objective?
I can understand that opinions may differ on how big or little difference these thing make to the overall console experience, but...
MattS,
Your comments are wrong on so many levels. All one needs to be in order to have an astute opinion of Iwata's "nonsensical" comments is an adept consumer- People who pay more for a game on the E-shop than they could otherwise purchase elsewere either 1)don't care if they pay more 2) don t know any better or 3) don t have another means of purchasing the game in the time frame they desire to have it
What Iwata is actually saying is he wi...
How many digital sales are enough according to Nintendo? It could be 1 game or it could be 100,000+ games- we do not know-
Their digital sales are rising because The Wii U and recently the 3DS are their fist real effort to cultivate that market- So they had a very low base of digital sales to start with so practically any # is a "rise in digital sales".
How would they know how many people are not buying digital- I have bought/wil buy some digit...
The only people who believe Iwata when he talks are the naïve and the blindly loyal- This guy speaks as if the rest of us are insanely dim-
Iwata is a Don Matrick in sheeps clothing
what does "hope to" mean? It is in their control to do it
or not-
When Iwata speaks he says nothing
Nintendo/Iwata finally states the market they are aiming the Wii U toward (Families/casuals). I know at launch they mentioned targeting the hardcore but that never happened- no one was targeted at launch-
While I am glad they have finally stated a direction for the Wii U 1 year later, I don t know how many casuals will choose the Wii U at $300 over the Wii or Wii Mini for far less $ s and many more games-
Also the ease of use the Wii featured w the Wii m...
As a Wii U owner who bought it to serve as our households only current gen console (have a Wii and 3DS too- but no Sony or MSFT consoles) I am very let down by Nintendo s lack of effort and commitment to getting 3rd parties on board like they assured us before the Wii U launch-
Now it is clear Nintendo has no intent to do what it takes to get key 3rd party games that we have been missing out on-
The other problem is they are not willing to invest enough resources...
I would settle for getting good multiplats - I don t care if a game is exclusive so long as I can have the option to play it on the Wii U
So I agree re buying exclusives but if they have to offer sales guarantee s or similar to get at least a high % of the quality multi plat games we have and will miss out on the Wii U (Wii too) then that is what they need to do-
No company WANTS to pay to get a game or have a price war- they do things like that when they feel the...
Please note my review scoring system and metrics:
I use a 1-100 points based system, 1 being the lowest and 100 being the highest
a game with a score below 50 is a below average game
a game above 70 is an ok game
a score of 80 -90 is a vey good game
any score 90 - 93 cost $5,000 from that developer (and/or any cut outs, middle men stc.)
scores 94-96 cost $10,000
scores 97-99 ...
Dear MSFT I will do a better PR job (as it relates to direct comparisons to the PS4) for the XB1 than your current PR firm is doing (much better) and it will cost you far less
Better PR output for less money
But if you keep admitting the same problem and do nothing about it, it makes you look incompetent
It s like acknowledging and apologizing for stealing something from someone but not offering to return it- then doing it again and again and again
They did get lazy sometime during the Wii's "hay day"- They supported the Wii U very little the last few years and many people assumed they were busy getting the next gen console and next gen games ready to go- Once the Wii u launched and it became evident that they did not have many games or the right games, it really makes one wonder what the heck they have been doing.
Once the started taking losses they must have decided to launch the Wii u "on the c...
Wonder Women would sell well f she was topless through most of the game- or maybe as you complete levels she loses a part of her clothing- like strip video game play
maybe not in good taste but it would sell
other than the price drop, what action did they take a couple months ago? They stated their strategy in ar;y 2013 and have not deviated from it to their detriment- (release games on a consistent basis starting 3rd Q 2013) they have stuck to this strategy and Iwata reiterates again to wait for the "big games" to come thru-
They need to be investing more $$ s in the console, in games for the console and marketing for the console- It does not appear they have m...
.... anyone been in a Gamestop or in the games section of a major retailer lately? If you look at shelf space, positioning and general display for Wii U/Wii products and games they look insignificant in comparison to their competitors.
Nintendo Market share and mind share are dropping even if you include the 3rds
even if they make a profit one day on the wii U (not likely at the current pace and positioning), their revenues are decling and as important thei...
I own a Wii U (only have Wii U, Wii and 3DS in our household) I bought the Wi U at launch for my 7 year olds B day based on the announced launch lineup, the promise of doing far better re 3rd party games going forward and the promise of great future Nintendo games.
Nintendo sold nearly 3 million units from launch thru year end but as soon as they started announcing their launch game delays and the holidays ended sales tanked and have not recovered since- So most of the Wii ...
There won t be an accurate representation of COD Ghost till the end of November at the earliest- You have the next gen consoles coming online by then which will see a big bump in sales- then we will see a jump across all consoles due to black Friday and the rest of the Holiday sales season- Really it may be the end of Dec to get an accurate idea of y over y sales
I don t play COD (not for several years and then only on the wii and offline)- I just think it is too early to ...
