I know this is just merely nitpicking the article, but I feel like I should point out something. For the monster hunt reason, the author's description of how in depth it will be actually describes the depth of monster hunting in the first Witcher. When playing the second game, I noticed the developers didn't go into as much detail for any monster you faced, just a very brief desciption.

That said, if the developers are going to provide more rich details on each monste...

MS aren't angels, but this is such biased argument. The fact is, the committee that supported OpenGL f'd up and MS saw an opportunity to take over the market. As much as I want to see OpenGL take off, you can't deny that DirectX and OpenGL today is the result of decision making from everyone involved.

As much as I prefer the Witcher over Skyrim, I don't think it will sell as much. The Elder Scrolls is a well established series, even non-gamers know about it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm absolutely sure the Witcher will sell very well, but Skyrim is like the Call of Duty of RPGs.

3DS XL was released on July - September of 2012, that's 2 and a half years ago.

Nice try.

Because I have the first 2 games, it won my $48 ;)

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, go to GOG.com. You basically get a discount on your pre-order if you have the Witcher 1 or 2 on pc, and a better discount if you have both.

Guys, it's real simple, if they wanted severe damage on cars like in the Burnout games, they would have done it. It has nothing to do with physics in the game. It's the manufacturers who allow their cars to be used that don't want the developers to show total damage.

You're right, as technology progresses, equipment such as 1080p monitors and televisions become easier to acquire thanks to cheaper costs. Therefore, the frequency of this kind of equipment being purchased exponentially increases.

I hope you guys know that Steam went from 65M to 75M active users in just 3 months right (October until January)? I don't know how many there are now, especially with the summer sales. See for yourself...

http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...

I'm sure there are much more than 25 million that are capable of 1080p.

I stopped getting collector items when I realized how much dust they collect. They are nice yes, but to me it's not worth the effort to maintain them, let alone the money you spend.

Your comment about AMD's drivers is overstated as well. I'll agree that AMD linux drivers are sometimes finnicky, but I'm using AMD hardware right now on linux and so far the latest drivers have been very stable.

However, when it comes to AMD's Windows drivers, people always fall back on the terrible drivers argument when that was only the case a few years ago. They've gotten much better at their drivers today and I, as well as some of my friends haven'...

Batman's vehicles always had weapons mounted on them, so it's no surprise. He's not an anti-gun freak, it's just in his code to not commit murder. He'll most likely use these weapons to destroy equipment, create escape routes and immobilize other vehicles.

I think Batman just doesn't use personal firearms because it reminds him of what killed his parents, hence uses other gadgets.

Yep, this is why I don't buy games on the first day anymore. I'm a student and the prices are too steep for me. I've learned to become patient and just wait until there are big sales. Usually as I wait, there are other games that go on sale that I've never played and would like to, so it's no biggie.

I seriously think WMD is an underlooked game development platform (created by the dev team Slightly Mad Studios). You guys should read about it. I like the fact that community is actually involved in shaping this game. More devs should look into it.

@Muadiib

We don't know that yet. This game is only in pre-alpha so there's still much optimization to be done. The VRAM demand for BF4 was lower when the final version released.

The 3GB on the GTX 780 Ti is enough for even 2560x1440, for now I suppose. We'll see when the final game comes out, but even then I'd choose a 780 Ti over a Titan any day. It performs better in every way for gaming, except the only drawback is the amount of VRAM it has...

Dude, the Titans are dead for gaming. It's better that you say that you need two GTX 780 Ti's to max this game. Not only are they better than Titans for gaming, but also cheaper. Or better yet, at the cost of a Titan, you can get 2 GTX 780's

Very pathetic indeed. CD Projekt not only released a great game that is Witcher 2, but they also went out of their way to improve on it by releasing the Enhanced Edition, with new downloadable content...ALL FOR FREE! (For people who already bought the first version).

Now some of you arseholes have the gull to call out these hard working developers like that? You don't deserve to play their games.

Then you shouldn't have a gaming PC then if you're not going to bother doing the work. You do realize that PC's are meant for multiple applications and not just games, which is why they are more complex and require more maintenance than dedicated gaming machines.

And I could say the same thing about my PC, I rarely run into software problems because I know how to take care of it. I've heard people having their games crashing on the PS3 and Sony patches screwin...

"Thanks Bodge, but to lower settings is sort of missing the point of PC gaming."

Sorry to say, but it's you who misses the point of PC gaming. If you prefer consoles over PC, that's fine, that's your choice, but don't paint PC Gaming as only being meant for better graphics. There's much more to it than you think (think mods for example).

And please, the argument about software being a pain to install and fix is so overblown. If s...
