I don't know if it's just me but I find that joke is starting to either get old or overused. RROD's and RDOD's are based on the same issue.

Why does he need to discuss it? The Xbox HD-DVD CAN play 1080p movies.
They probably figured it's cheaper to put back the X-clamp. However, the machine is supposed to run much cooler now and the fan is on a better place. It's not so much the X-clamp that caused the problem, it more the lack of air flow and the build up of heat inside.
As for the RROD to RDOD, come on guys seriously, it's not like MS will refuse because you have a RDOD instead. If it's the same problem as the old Xbox, then they'll fix it, simple.

I wouldn't say it's rushed, Turn 10 claimed that this engine for Forza was built from the ground up and it took 2 years to develop, now they have an extra 2 years to make it look better.
If it's out in 2011, then they have 2 more years to refine their engine, look at Uncharted 2.

I wouldn't say they're underfunded, they just don't get as much. The only studios that get a lot from MS are Bungie, Turn 10, Lionhead and Rare because they are first party devs (well Bungie WAS first party until they seperated).
