I think allowing user generated content is great, but a good majority of it isn't very good. Don't get me wrong, there are some amazing mods and levels available for plenty of games, but for every great one, there are 5 horrible ones.

I'm really enjoying the game so far. I'm about 2/3 through the campaign and am really enjoying the story. I'm a big fan of the Halo universe anyway, so that helps going in.
Firefight is good, albeit tough. I'm not sure why they didn't include any matchmaking.

Halo is the actual ring worlds. Master Chief, the Spartan soldier main character from the other games, isn't in ODST. The game runs parallel to the events of Halo 2.

Whether there were many big releases around it is somewhat irrelevant. Moving 2 million units in one day is pretty impressive.
I think both ODST and Killzone 2 are fun. You're right, having fun is what's most important.
Great article. I’m surprised how fast it got to 2 million. I knew it would sell a lot, but this is much faster than I anticipated.
It's going to be a while before I can even start playing this Beta. The download is insanely slow.
