I don't want to spoil anything, but the story isn't really written as a co-op campaign. While you are playing in a squad for a lot of the time, it's not the same person fighting alongside you at every turn. That would make it difficult for the second player to keep changing characters during gameplay.
The lighting is definitely amazing. Even though almost every setting is dark and dreary, the lighting makes everything feel fresh.
Yeah Guerilla Games did an amazing job with the visuals in the game. It's extremely immersive.
The multiplayer is insanely fun. I have a feeling that people will be playing this for a long time, especially with all the class unlocks.
Based on my play time, I think it stands up without the Halo name. The gameplay is solid and fun. It's easily the best controls on a console for an RTS game.
Since the SF2/MK2 era, for me, a lot of fighting games have turned into button mashers. SF4 hearkens back to that era and I find myself doing moves that I know almost all of the time instead of just mashing buttons
Whichever system you're playing on, it's better to use the MadCatz FightPad or even the FightStick, if you can afford it.
At first glance and on the surface, Halo Wars seems like an overly simple RTS. Digging down more, it really is a pretty deep game that satisfies both new and veteran RTS players. Ensemble did a great job here.
Yeah, no dice there. In the demo, the campaign only has you playing as the UNSC. In multiplayer, you can be the UNSC or the Covenant.
Yeah there's no reason Microsoft won't port this over to the PC if the sales are very strong, which I anticipate will be the case.
You're right, Ensemble knew how to make a sweet RTS game. Too bad they got shut down. A team at Microsoft is now supporting Halo Wars with some DLC and such.
Nope, no voice controls or anything like that. It's a simple, clean, sleek control system.
@greyishfox - Completely agree. However, most of time people don't do things politely. It usually ends up with people acting like 3 year olds. Sad, really, that most times you can't have intelligent discussion.
@taz8080 - I think the LOTR RTS did a fairly good job at controls, but Halo Wars really takes it to the next level of simplifying everything for a console. EndWar went another direction with the voice controls, but Halo Wars really does a terrific job with the controller.
Yeah I don't think you're going to be able to wait. I have a feeling this will be the biggest selling console RTS of all time.
@greyishfox - I've only played the demo of EndWar and haven't played C&C3 on a console. I would say based on the two demos I've played, Halo Wars is more enjoyable than EndWar.
That's a whole different topic, but yeah, you're right. Making up stuff to grab sensationalist headline traffic isn't right either.
@dubbalubagis - You'd think it would be easy to do, right?
It's pretty sad, actually, with how many stories are getting ripped off.
The fact that you can build up that many supplies and win an online match without a video feed from the TV is ridiculous.
