The alternative which probably would've just been the default; 'zombies' would have been much worse. I'm going to be honest and tell you that I find "freakers" to be an annoying, corny alternative.
I hope when I play tonight, I find out that Deacon and his brother were the ones that coined it, and that it's something that catches on and spreads throughout the camps of Oregon (lol). If the world just collectively dubs them "freakers" f...
Let's cut the nonsense. That happened, what, twice? Polygon and someone else. This is a middling game, period. You can't just slap an SJW brush across EVERYONE that gives this game a middling review.
Sony studios can pump out OK games too. I think that's the real issue here. I'm no fan of PC/SJW culture, but I see this excuse making and scapegoating everywhere here, AND IT'S NONSENSE.
Like I said, if you like it that's great, but...
Dude, let's be objective here. It's a middling game. Big deal. Not to say that you can't enjoy it, but let's not start slamming outlets for their objective opinions.
There's some maliciousness in gaming journalism; sure, but there's a common consensus here, and it ain't great.
I just 1000G'd the first. Needless to say I enjoyed it. I'll be picking this up. They can make another Observer while they're at it.

TYPE OF GAME
Generic open-world survival, name-brand zombies.
LIKED
Thrilling zombie horde encounters, finally getting to see the Pacific Northwest for myself.
DISLIKED
Bugs, a bland story, lots of overly familiar gameplay.
I'm one of the only .02 percent of KZ:SF platinum owners, and damn proud of it.

If Jussie Smollett was the protagonist I would just walk into enemies and kill myself repeatedly.
There's tons of great games that take advantage of the Pro.
I'm still going to play it. I'm going to plow through this thing. Judging by the trophies it's an easy platinum too.
What's wrong with GameSpot?
Oohhhh.
Honestly, though, if you approached people on the street and asked "What are these?" what do you think they'd say?
Nonsense.
People were never maligning this game. They were 'criticizing' what they saw, which early on, arguably, wasn't very promising.
There's a difference between fair criticism and raw maliciousness. Just because people are critical doesn't mean they're malicious in their intent. Eurogamer didn't shit on the game for the sake of shitting on it, but they did criticize it, which is totally fair.
The notion ...
He's probably referring to the freaker/horde AI; how it behaves and how the player can approach and deal with it.
Watching game play footage, dismantling pockets of hordes seems to require clever thinking. It's like a puzzle. You need to guide and lure them down specific paths and use the environment to thin their numbers or you'll likely be overwhelmed and need to retreat.
"By no means is this title a grand masterpiece in the genre, but it is an intelligent and enjoyable one. And being an open world lover who takes pleasure in collecting and building characters up, I am more than content."
This is exactly what I've been thinking for months, and it seems to be confirmed here. Looking forward to the platinum.
Any kind of fanboyism is absolutely ridiculous.
It really looked great with HDR. The autumn trees, sun shafts, and ornate temple interiors, all in a nice, crisp resolution.
China... -sigh-
I just want good games. I know I'll get great material from Sony. Honestly, I think Naughty Dog are the best game studio in the world. They go above and beyond. Absolutely world class.
If Microsoft would let their studios just make what they want and back them with all the resources, it wouldn't be so one sided. Microsoft studios could deliver. It's not like their studios are filled with unimaginative idiots with cutting floors piled to the ceilings with shatter...
