I am in a software/networking course and my friends are fine with it. The only problem is theres no reason to upgrade. It doesnt really offer anything thats needed. Its still a good operating system, your friends are just afraid of change.
Most of my friends actually like vista, i think its really great. Everyone is just way to critical of Microsoft and easy on Apple.

jaja - nope. My uncle gets all HD channels free using only an antenna. TV stations dont care about money to subscribe to their channel, they make money off advertising. All channels are in the air and free. You must have an HD tuner in your TV though, or some way to convert the HD signal to one your TV can handle.
Edit to below: I agree with you :) my uncle lives across the lake from Buffalo though, so hes in a prime location to receive numerous channels.
It works for the PC too. Automatically with Vista, and with an update with XP. I dont know why they dont market it as being able to do this, its a rather cheap drive.
Bonsai1214 - I have windows and have downloaded to my wireless laptop at 16MB/s, got to love even more quality products eh? But I still dont trust wireless, theres no way for it to keep up with LAN which is capable of going the speed of light. Theres no way a ray can exit your router and reach your wireless device unless it has a LOS at the speed of light.
Dont use wifi, its slow and unreliable (compared to LAN).
If youre in North America you can get the majority of channels in HD already. They are being broadcast everywhere. Its free too, all you need is an antenna and an HD tuner in your TV. Not a lot of people know this i guess.
Edit to below: What im saying is that you dont need a provider. The channels are free and in the air. There are more channels then you know. I do have a provider and i have about 40 HD channels, so maybe you should either go with the free way and get an ante...
Xbox 360 doesnt natively support 1080p? How do you know this? All you know is that it supports it. It supports 1080p just as much as the PS3.

All 3 of those are shooter types. Thats not a bad thing, theyre all different in their own way. The only games I wasnt interested in were the PC games. So looks like i may have to pick up a PS3 after all :)

haha thats funny. Have you ever heard of compatibility mode? Right click on your .exe file and check the box that says run in Windows XP Service Pack 2 compatibility mode and all should work fine. I have not encountered a single program that doesnt work. This includes games like Blender, 3DS Max 8, Photoshop, Paint.net, and many many others.
