I was under the impression that PS3 can't upscale PS3 games. Maybe it changed in a firmware update. Whatever resolution PS3 game is running its native.
Developer and gaming community is still strong. Sony really doesn't have to prove anything to anybody. They have done what no console company has done. Sony could only have have their consumer base buy a PS3 and still have more units sold than Xbox or Gamecube combine. Microsoft was still rolling with the xbox and I believe they probably could have pushed another 15 million xbox units had they went the full 5 years but gamecube was dying at that time. You have 25 million Gamecube users i...
By the way, for all those it has to be 40" - Sharp makes a 37" version of this. These gaming tvs are not Sharp's top of the line but are slightly improved versions of last models (which were pretty good). Mostly good reviews but Sharp was hit hard because they were a little pricey. Sharp must of heard because they quickly dropped the price $400 on the 37" and $32
32" is around $1000 now
37" is around $1400 now

Requires a bit more thinking, planning, and strategy. The map also forces you to really use the Drop ships for what they where intended for. Quick transport of troops and armor. However, people have made a very interesting point. Warhawk was capable of 32vs32 play but their level designs didn't make sense for it at the time. This could open up the opportunity for a 32vs32 gameplay. Lets hope!
They can have blood dripping anime with swords but censor a video games that is slight over exaggerated but no way a blood bath.
PC with Windows XP or Linux 1 to 2 GB max unless your running virtual clients then you will need more (if the OS can take it) and Vista 2 to 4 GB. Yet consoles were still stuck at 512mb. 8GB is what you will see on PCs standard in 2011 so I doubt that will happen for the consoles. More like 4 GBs of memory is realistic for a console.
Also I believe that we will see a pattern continue in the Cores category. 2006 and 2007 was the years of the dual core with quad core makein...
Here is a perfect example where I just don't understand gamers. For instance we have Xbox 360 fans that have bombarded PS3 forums laughing at Lair and at PS3 gamers for playing this game. Pretty much the same problems that plagued Lair plague Assassin's Creed - Wierd controls that don't always work when battle situations get intense and a bit of Repetition.
So we xbox 360 community either don't become hypocrites and don't support a game with problems like this or we retract...
1. The SPEs are cores. Its Microsoft FUD that tried to make it seem like they are just DSPs.
SPEs are vector processors or more specifically SIMD (single instruction multiple data) processors. SIMD processors are designed specifically for computations done in parallism. These types of processors can be used as a DSP (since sound computations are parallel) but are so much more and have many more capabilities than just duplicating the actions of a DSP.

So now you have to make a choice Disney/Pixar or Dreamworks......Disney/Pixar or Dreamworks......
Bet your bottom dollar that Disney/Pixar will win that battle. O.k dear... What player plays HD Disney/Pixar movies.....Blu-ray......
Sorry Shrek.... not a fairy tale ending for you this time.
Blu-ray camp haven't even played Toshiba's game yet. Not one of them have sold their players at a loss like Toshiba has save one and that is Sony via PS3. Problem is that is normal because that is how the console gaming biz does things.
Toshiba wants to start a price war they are going to lose. Blu-ray camp have more capital to spend and the PS3 has games (or will have games and loyal gamer fanbase) that will protect Sony's loss in the PS3.
All this is going...
Where did the crazy notion that there Had to be one game that saves a system. Trust me, I rather have several good quality games and no great games than a couple of great games and the rest is crap. PS3 may not have a Halo 3 type game but they have a Lot of really good quality games more so than my Xbox 360. Most of the games are junk for my xbox 360, but it does have a few Great ones for it.
I have no doubt that the Great ones are coming for the PS3 just have to be patient....
and most people agree with me. There is not much point in seeing someone talking when they could just do it with sound only and not have a distracting PIP on the screen.
If this had been the late 80's early 90's HD-DVD would have won because the electronic giants had us consumers sold on extras. However, today most people realize they never used all that extra junk on their TVs and probably find even less compelling reasons not to use it in a player. After all not everyone w...
8xAA version at 1080p at 60fps. I don't know of any $1000 dollar or less computer DIY or Retail that can do it yet.
That said, if you pay over twice as much for a gaming rig you would expect at least 2x the performance so there is no comparison here.
Also, so what if PC games are $10-$20 less. I love math so lets do some (I bored I need to get back to gaming). Let us say that you can buy a $1200 rig that can perform at the above specs. I will use a $400 PS3...
The benefits out weigh the disadvantages. There is 365 days in a year if you were to use the projector 8 hours a day everyday 365 x 8 = 2920 hours which is what most low cost projectors will run in low power mode (the mode most people will use). I probably average more like 4 hours a day since it would be used for Computer/Gaming/TV. In low power mode I'd of course double my usage to 2 years. If your planning on using a Projector all day everyday I would suggest going for a Projector that...
Sony planning on selling the controller by itself this Christmas to everyone?
can't wait to for Adobe to finalize h.264 support so we can see better vid quality
Now we don't need bulky large Disc players for our game machines.
Its quite possible that the next console war won't have disc and rely on external hdd using a ultra fast port like esata or an upgraded usb or firewire port. This would reduce the size of the console significantly but still retain the power (thus easier to bring over to a friends house which could be sold as a benefit to gamers) Also would make the console more durable/tough.
Can't wait to see what...
Where will gamers find their comfort zone as far as what is needed to enjoy gaming. PS3 and Xbox 360 pretty much stole the crown from the low end PC market because there is no competition at that price range. I have a strong belief that the next generation of game console will even be more PC like and will even push into Home/Business Computing as an added benefit and new market to sell their hardware. Competition is so fierce this generation, that next generation consoles will make this cu...
Once these game engines have matured AND Sony sticks with the cell for at least the next two Playstations you will see some amazing optimization for the Cell and Games in General. Also, it seems more and more tasks that were thought to be done only using serial instead of parallelism are finding just the opposite. A good example is AI. At first before developers had a chance to play with the cell it was thought that the SPUs wouldn't be good for AI but in fact the SPUs can do AI and do it ...
sorry could help myself. Seriously there are women of all shapes and sizes. Generally, games like to stick with good look girls/women. Have you ever seen a big breasted chick run, jump, fight without a bra? Breasts will bounce a lot. Good to see a mixture of different body types in the game (including fictional). If you don't like Ivy don't play her.
.... Ivy has always been one of my favorites both in style and looks.
Ivy has always had that creepy intimida...
