Xbox is the golden standard of how console gaming online capabilities should be.
With that said, what Mr.Iwata is really saying makes perfect sense. You cannot truly invest in the Wii U online capabilities this generation and compete with Microsoft without going through their own growing pains. Nintendo is heading in the right direction and will get it done with time. I expect them the leap frog Sony's offering sooner than later.
LOL is right... for the hater thinking the Wii U is less powerful. Take a look at PS3 vs WiiU Assasin Creed 3. Guys it is not even close. The WiiU version(1080p at 60fps) is far more detailed with much better texturs, lighting etc.
But I know what the response to this will be, "Well Uncharted looks way better". That game was done by Sony's first party developer. My answer to you is lets see what Retro (Nintendo's first party developer) brings to the table...
WiiU will run this engine. The real question is can it handle the PS4/Xbox720 level of Unreal Engine 4. Meaning will you have to dummy down the engine on the WiiU when compared to the future Xbox and PS.
That is way too early to be drinking alcohol. They failed greatly.
This has to be the ultimate EPIC fail by Nintendo... I too cannot believe the wet vomit I say. There were only three games that gave me hope to keep on watching. I am sure Nintendo said their focus this time around was core gamers yet 90% of their presentation was casual games, the Wii U UI is all kiddy looking (I hope its customizable) and dont get me started with that crap ass NintendoLand.
Sony won this E3 followed by Microsoft then a distant fail Nintendo.
Wow... that was the worse I have seen from Microsoft. Great start (Halo4) and ending (COD) the middle was piss poor.
Is that a camera I see right above the logo?
Wii U Pro controller is the birth child of Xbox360 and PS3 controller with a hint of Nintendo touch... nice. What we have is the perfect controller. Did anyone see the few seconds of that zombie game in the promo video... interesting.
Please explain to me how a standard controller configuration (same as the Xbox360 and same as the PS3) with the addition of a touch screen is a gimmick. What exactly is your point or are you just trying to find something to complain about a new console that u may have no plans on getting because if from Nintendo.
@Browngamer41
When I used the term "Big boys" its in reference to the fact that Microsoft and Sony own the HD graphically immersive experience this generation. All the hardcore AAA games from major AAA developers are only on their gaming console. The pending release of the Wii U will dramatically change that mindset. That why i refer to them in that manner.
Very Interesting… if you read his comments again, he is saying that there are games in development that are using their CryEngine. I hope this means CryEngine 3.4. That means there are graphically intense games being developed for the Wii U for a later release time frame.
And so it has begun... Nintendo first aggressive move to let the big boys (Microsoft and Sony) know they are now in the HD era and they will be seen and heard. Talk about a move to take away some of Microsoft thunder on Monday.
What this comes down to is that a curtain number of developers just refuse to work on any Nintendo based hardware due to their personal bias or in some cases poor software sales in the past that hurt their bottom line (profits).
This generation the excuse was "The Wii just have inferior hardware", the current excuse is "Too complex to work on the Wii U" and when the PS4 and Xbox720 release the next excuse will be "The Wii U is not as powerful as these...
Guys you do realized that the Wii U still will cater to the casuals. After all they did make Nintendo a butt load of money. So stop being surprise and make silly statements when you see a casual or kid game announced. There is a huge market for both casuals and core gamers.
@ Hisiru
I understand your point about which engine is currently the standard for the Gaming Industry. It would be a major fail for Nintendo to drop this game after telling the world they are going after the Core Gamers first this time around. Nintendo already know they have to Casual Gamers in the bag and they are the ones who will gradually migrate to the Wii U from the Wii. its the Core Gamers that are normally the early adopters.
I am a personal fan of the CryEngine 3.4 (the direct competition for Unreal Engine 4)... So if it can run on Wii U then you know which game and other coming Nintendo side.

UPDATE: Epic says it has not declared its Wii U strategy yet.
Haters sure love to misrepresent information. Nothing has been confirmed as Nintendo still have the gag order. The gag order will be lifted next week. Take a look at this link.

Idiot... this is not a rumor its a fact.

LOL.... No i am not using that source. Those spec are not going to happen. My reference is, once again, WiiU version of Assassin Creed 3. Look it up.
