Not really a good job till they fix the following:
Nintendo needs to seriously work on fixing the load times between menu options. In some cases its up to a 11 sec wait when going from the game back to the main menu. That is definitely not acceptable given the fact the OS is using 1GB of memory. GET THIS CORRECT NINTENDO WITH ANOTHER SYSTEM UPDATE.
Its real silly to even attempt to answer this question with questionable ports. If Retro Studios create a game that is not eye popping then we can conclude the Wii U is not next Gen. Retro Studios will be my measuring stick... not some half baked port(s).
Not an early adapter so I will wait for the second batch. I will let you guys, "Perjoss" and "Bedzy99", help workout the issues that are sure to come with any new console launch.
Yep... the external HD will allow you to play from it.
Information from the site was updated and corrected. You will be able to launch and play games from the external harddrive. So people can settle down now.
The Wii U version will look close to this. If not, definitely better they the Xbox360 and PS3 version. Yes I know... "well it should" for those who will respond with that no brainer comment.
@Koga88,
I fully agree with you. I also have the slim version and do not see the need to trade in for this one. Plus, come on Sony... its 2012 and still no HDMI cable. Not smart at all.
Latency problems alone is enough of a reason why Sony cannot duplicate the experience that the Wii U and the controller can do. Wii U did COD on the controller with zero latency. That is the gold stamp in performance at this point.
You can add an external hard drive to the console. You are not limited to the internal flash memory. So storage will never be an issue.
@Shok,
You hit the nail on the head. Very valid points you made. The bottom line is the WiiU is next gen. PS4 and Xbox720 will be more powerful but the difference will not be that great. For those that disagree always remember the cost factor. Are you willing to pay $500 or $600 for a console and is Microsoft/Sony (especially Sony) willing to bet that consumer will purchase their next gen consoles at that high price as early adopters. History shows (PS3) that it was a very ba...
Since you went into the future and came back with knowing the PS4 and Xbox720 is going to crush the WiiU. Can you also tell us the price? Since with that advancement in specs I am sure it will not be cheap so those of us who believe in you can start saving up from now.
The bottom line is WiiU will be first time in a long time Nintendo stepped out the box and is bringing something fresh, innovative and with a wealth of entertainment value. My pre-order is already set. I cannot...
@ moneygun2
Moron... how about you mind your business and stay on topic. I made my point. If you both cannot understand that, then keep it moving.
@One2thr
I am not sure why you cannot understand what I wrote. Its does not take much brain cells. So let me try this again in bullet points. Try and keep up.
* Sony had a revision of the PS3. I see no value in the revision if you already have a PS3
* I looked at the specs sheet of the new PS3 revision and I used the WiiU to makes a comparison of the fact the PS3 (old technology) still use more power (watts) than the WiiU (more advance techno...
Less tech than the Wii U and still consume more power (watts). I already have a PS3. Absolutely no reason to invest more money in the same tech. Next investment will be the Wii U, till the PS4 comes around... then the PS3 gets traded in.
That is not a video of the Wii U version. Thats a short clip from the trailer shown some time age. What a misleading article.
This fat ass is an idiot. How about he put that passion into loosing some weight and getting his facts correct.
its a port to the WiiU. Why are people expecting games for all three consoles to look much better on the WiiU to then prove its better??? To me, when Retro show the next Metroid Prime game... then people can have the conversation if the WiiU is next gen or just a minor upgrade to the 360/PS3. 1st and 2nd party developers are the ones to showcase what the console they are developing for can really do. For example look at the work Naughty Dog continues to do on the PS3.
I fully agree with you... Nintendo have definitely stepped out the box on this one.
Plus the WiiU fitted with 2GB of memory for gaming... So far very impressive specs. Nintendo has surprise me this far... no incremental upgrade like their previous console cycle. I will be watching the live Nintendo press conference which start at 10am. One of three sites to watch it is.. http://www.nintendo.com/wii...
Sigh!!!... Well this game is now off my list. There is no denying the fact that the game mechanics isn't robust enough for purchase. 4 to 6 time of applying the cricket bat to the head over and over again as your primary means of gameplay = Fail. Plus no real online experience makes this game a pass for me.
This is Red Steel all over again. What is up with Nintendo quality management.
