Nintendo video presentation was predictable as expected every year. Heavy on their own IPs (often no new IPs in gaming genres they have no presence in) and extremely lite on 3rd party support once again. None of the announced AAA titles from 3rd party are coming to the current Nintendo console/portable device. This trend has been consistent for 3 generations now.
Once again....This will be a 3rd generation were Nintendo gaming systems will not get any AAA 3rd party games. ...
Hmmm... the only game they never mention which console(s) its for.... Hmmm could the rumor be true its an exclusive (could be just time based) for the Switch??? Time will tell.
What Nintendo is slow to do and to my surprise still not seeking to do is expanding their 2nd party studios. Getting top tier talent to bring new IPs in gaming genres they have struggled to get support in.
The bigger IP is Metroid Prime franchise. Nintendo needs to let Retro once again flex their creative huge open world muscle and showcase an immersive graphical master piece this E3. The 2D variant Fusion is also a welcome edition but Prime is want most fans have been asking for.
This will be a nice addition to the Switch lineup.
Damn... I hope that's picture doesn't represent just how big and bulky the console will be. Specs however look great but at the end of the day its about the games that run on it.
Switch will ultimately have better sales numbers than the Scorpion over time.
"Xbox could outsell PS4 this year thanks to Scorpio..." HAHAHAHAHAHAHA... (Took a breath).. HAHAHAHAHA. Needed that good laugh this morning. The last time I checked software sells hardware. Exclusives, AAA titles etc and price point is what makes hardware sell in great volume. Raw power alone historically never lead to great sales.
I really looking forward to see what a Zelda game made from the ground up for the Switch (with the newer Unreal Engine announced) will look and play like. This version is a slightly textured enhanced upgrade from the WiiU port. As for E3 2017... I hope to see a Metroid Prime teaser for the Switch.
Your decision makes perfect sense as a console gamer. PS4/Switch combo present the best options in AAA and franchise exclusive games. I own a PS4 and comes this Christmas into 2018 I plan to do the same. Not going to pick up a Switch yet till I see what other key games are coming to the Switch. I hope Metroid Prime will be shown (a teaser) and announced for the Switch at this years E3.
Where is the stats to back up your claim that digital downloads of large AAA games are out pacing physical copies? I am all about popping in a game and instantly playing vs waiting for a large file to be downloaded.
Silly article and somewhat misleading. Why would I want to download 32(+)GB worth of game when that limits its resale value. A physical copy of the games like this is the way to go.
LOL... and want full price again I bet. Nintendo = BlackBerry of gaming.
Clearly I cannot take you serious.
You are just straight hating. The presentation was not even close to being that bad.
The Switch should have been priced at $250 and the Joy Con are over priced (should have been $59.99).
I gave the presentation a B- grade. Not nearly enough discussed at how they are going to make online play/features better, not nearly enough AAA 3rd party support announced (huge mistake) and no mention or showing the Switch UI.
Well so much for hoping for the Switch version to be enhanced as it should. This is clearly a direct port. Will get it for the Switch none the less as the WiiU is dead.
I can only imagine the cost of such a console (got to be expensive). I cannot see Microsoft taking loose on this.
and at what FPS?? 4K gaming should be running at 60FPS native for games.
