What I think you are forgetting is the back end sales of these consoles. Sure the hardware costs money, but the digital is where they continually make money. The front end sales is the initial cost of the console. So taking a hit on the front end can generate revenue on the back end with digital sales. Well if you consider it took PS3 18-30 months after release to beat Xbox 360 console sales for a single month. Its actually quite a feat. If you are a fan of Halo its not that simple and you certainly don't give up on the series because of recent happenings.

Considering there are twice as many PS4 owners than Xbox one owners its safe to say the title would have sold two times the amount it did on Xbox one if it was multiplatform. You really think this compares to Destiny, Titanfall or Watchdogs hype? Those were hyped. They did a lot of grass roots promotion on this title. I hardly see that as "way over hyped". He's done a lot for Xbox. He's essentially turned an almost complete disaster of Xbox image into top console for the holidays. In just one year. I would say that's pretty good. I expect his reign to continue throughout the consoles life. Not just the holiday like some think.
