@mike
Can you produce music, create games, watch all Hulu content, buy early access games, Photoshop your pictures or play Half Life 3 when it comes out?
Just teasing BTW.
I almost had an aneurysm reading that. :p
@lecrust
Again I don't care about the console war. I am specifically talking about capcom. Part of the reason I said don't twist it into this is because I wasn't trying to rep my favorite corporation. I wasn't even talking about 3rd party. Both companies have third parties. Even the. Beloved Bloodborne from From Software. Does that make exclusives OK? No it cuts fans out of the equation. Which is rather lame in my opinion.
I am OK with new IPs...
@blacktar
Its all good man. I have a disagree fairy that follows me around these days. I don't mind. Haha
@blacktar
I was one of the only people who never really believed it was a permanent exclusive. They said holiday exclusive back then. Then it was confirmed timed.
@LeCrust
The only valid argument in that whole spiel is Dead Rising 3. That's because DR2 made its way to PS3. Other than that all those are original IPs (aka new games). Tomb Raider is timed.
You were right about one thing. Or rather made a good point.
Capcom is really good at making their fans feel left out. Which was the point of what I said and how the author of the article feels. Let's not be passive aggressive about this and cal...
First person shooters tend to be the most noticeable of games. That and fighters. I did the same thing BTW with halo. You don't notice too much until you taste the sweet life of 60 fps. Then you can't go back. Its sort of like downgrading your internet speeds.
The point of the article is not about sales or justifying this move based on sales projections. Its about the fans and how they are put in the middle. Making a certain dollar amount isn't going to wipe away the consumers grief. Nor is every consumer fortunate enough to own a next gen console, own both or have a PC of their own. This is great/bad news for console war idiots and bad news for those who can't afford another console.
Vgchartz has proven time and time again...
@rm
OK cool. Its been awhile. I just remember reading or hearing about it.
Actually I believe Phil Spencer may have said something on Twitter months ago. They are probably just being official about it so that it "comes from the horses mouth". So to speak. In other words straight from them.
Let's be clear about this. You are either for censorship or not. You are either for exclusivity or not. You don't get to flip flop between because it suits your argument on the console wars in the comments based on your favorite console company.
These are promotional materials. He wasnt paid by capcom to speak on their behalf.... So when the game comes out and people get to review it the only people who should be allowed an opinion on the game should be those who spea...
Its capcoms fan base. They can choose to do with it what they want. Hopefully it works out for them and their fans.
Well at least you are one of the few that decided to not petition against something or throw death threats a someone. Its a step up.
Much Love/respect for McCartney, I don't even dislike the song but the video is just weird...
@Moldiver
Yep. It's just the way things go. I just think it's silly when people act like on company is bad for doing it and another isn't. The hypocrisy get's a bit much sometimes.
He is literally responding to fans on twitter... like he always does. People sure like to paint it as desperation though.... Its not like he made a speech about it.
Psx was done to ensure fans felt like games were on the way and to spread the PlayStation brand some more. It worked and thats why some fans are asking Phil questions. Should he ignore them? I think it would be worse if he pretended like PSX didnt happen.
So that makes two check books that were opened. One from Sony and one from MS. I guess they are the same huh?
And fans of either console need to realize that their company is fully willing and capable to act like a business. They will take advantage of exclusivity as a tool to sell consoles. Both MS and Sony. Neither mind putting the gamer in the middle. Not something people should support. Unless you want that to continue on? Believe me it will get worse and not in your favor.
The "you did it first" excuse is not reasonable. There were exclusives onnplaystation long before...
What really worries me is if kids can take down networks at will all the time without repercussions or consequence. What will the Government eventually do to counter these type of actions for the future of the internet? Will it eventually sacrifice our freedoms that we have by placing a need for the government(s) to step in and take necessary precautions to control it? To me that's probably worse. They are presenting a need for these type of actions.
It's like Pokemon'. They really do a great job of getting people to buy more than 1 console lately. I am thinking of painting each room of my house to match each console in every room. :P
