I definitely think they stayed with its roots. It feels the same with a few optional perks. It at least keeps it fresh. The way I feel I have been playing halo long enough that a freshener is most welcomed. If people don't like it then they can play the master chief collection till the end of time. I just feel the game needs to grow and the changes thus far do not feel intrusive on its roots. Otherwise its just a reskinned copy of a copy of a copy...

I think some people forget that Halo had jump packs before COD or Titanfall. The beta is nothing extraordinarily new. Its minor tweaks. At no point did I feel like I was playing anything else. ADS is completely optional and if you get hit while using it you cannot aim. Mantle seems to be the only drastic change and it felt like it worked well.

It relates because its digital. How does that not relate. If people are trading in all their earnings for exposure shouldn't they be making more money than in the past? They make any of their money back through digital purchases on their consoles. Plain and simple.
MS doesn't frivolously throw money away. They are not prepubescent teens. They are a business and they are in it to make money. Not prove some sort of fanboy dispute or to walk around tall just for the sake of it. They are a business.. a MONEY business. It's called investment.

I was trying to compare other things that the services take care of and I pretty much expected to get disagrees. I do like my PS4 and I will agree I don't like the fanboys (regardless of how many there are) who make everything Xbox seem horrible. I think that they try too hard. A lot of those guys can't fathom positive news from Xbox. Mostly cause they don't own both. Same goes for the Xbox fanboys. I have been tempted to buy this on steam but I have so many games on my wish list that I want fulfilled. Looks cool though. Its crazy that it is full controller supported first and not mouse yet.

This seems rather assumptive. PS is having a slow winter (right now) and all people can talk about is spring 2015 releases to 2016 releases because of PSX. For the US and UK? Entirely possible. Overall for the world? Nah, but who really gives a crap. Its not like MS/Xbox is closing up shop anytime soon.
The fact of the matter is Xbox is still very relevant in gaming and its doing just fine. In fact, its doing much better than a lot of people give/gave it credit. MS/Xbox is actually listening to the consumer now. If they continue on this path then they will continue to be successful and they will continue to please gamers.

I meant the "selling the console for less than the competition" argument. PS4 sold for less than Xbox in the beginning. Now Xbox lowers their price and they are desperate and cheap. Who cares. Its still selling. Much better than a lot of people claimed it would have. The vocal minority just can't stand a minor victory.
So I guess sales matter now? A lot of people at the start of this gen claimed Sony undercutting the competitions price point had nothing to do with success in sales.
BTW "desperate" is just called business in the industry.
It is an opinion piece so there is no reason for any side to get defensive. "Opinion piece" means this persons opinion that's it. I don't think we need a break down of societies sales and metacritic averages for that.
