You are turning this into a console vs console thing, In the "who's winning the console war" perception that matters but elsewhere its giving the consumer options which is conumer friendly. Instead of being only a console market they are opening it to redefine the box we are limited to. Besides even Sony is looking to network their devices.
I'm pretty sure this is Satyas doing from the very beginning since he took over. We all essentially have small networks...

So you like paying multiple times for a game you already purchased?
I would think the act of Remastering games to resell them to us over and over again is far worse than bringing them with me to keep playing wherever I want. Like the Article mentions essentially you are "wiping the slate clean each gen"
Not to mention having the choice of where I want to play that content over multiple devices gives us options as gamers to ...
I think it's more that the Consoles are becoming more and more like a PC anyway. The only thing that really separated them was the UI and hardware limitations. Now games are coded with the PC in mind to make for easier ports to consoles. It seems like it's one step closer.
With the physical media format slowly dying down it seems like it's more like a PC anyways. Which in all honesty having my games come with me from Gen to Gen should have been a thing years ago....
I guess it's more about the community of PC gamers where as before steam PC gamers were sort of fragmented and not belonging to a particular community collection.
Sure, Steam is free to download and you don't have to buy but one game on it to use it fully but apparently a lot of people like to belong to a particular community more. We all use the ones you suggested because most times we have no choice. We rely solely on voice chat apps and in game chat to group us to...

I would think that Sony is preparing for the inevitable future as the consumer craves and needs more power. After the start of this Gen and how people have touted power, resolution and now frames. It seems people want more power and they want it sooner than a typical console gen has to offer. Does that mean more people are open to PC gaming than ever before? It's possible. I'm sure Sony and MS want to prepare for any eventuality of consumer interests. Otherwise ...
Lol
I remember a certain group of fans saying resolution mattered at the start of this gen. So others would argue "then get a PC if it matters so much. PC has the best possible resolution." Then those people would respond with. "It's far too expensive though it costs $5 gazillion dollars to pc game".
Now these same people saying PC was not an option because of of price are saying consoles have no point now. Thanks for making me waste m...
@Idree
I don't think the only people who care about upgrading their stuff are just the rare people who bicker about this stuff. You might be under estimating people a little. If they were able to make it simple and easy enough people might prefer it. I think more and more people are getting more knowledgeable as time goes on. Who knows they may label it something as simple as 1080p 60fps upgrade to 4k 30fps. For people who have 4k tvs it could be that simple.
I was just lightly perusing who this wrath guy is and he's just crazy. I mean like legitimately lost in his mind. I can't believe there are people who actually support him. They have to be made up of little kids. If not... man., if not... that's sad.
It's disgusting how people are online these days. Reading those twitter responses made me hate being a gamer.
@peas
Sounds familiar it may have just been a long while.
@solid
Yeah I'm hoping. I actually enjoyed the MP too.
@goldby
Well it wouldn't be all that different from adjusting our PC settings. Unless Xbox opted for 3 approved upgrades specs that you could change out. So the development would be for those 3 only. As far as Xbox parts it would probably be in association with whatever brand they work with.
I don't mind if others are not excited but I am. I grew up on DOOM and wolfenstein. So I'm looking forward to it.
I fail to see how having options is lacking in a consumer friendly practice. If they make it easy to change things out and work it would be a good thing. That means if you want more from your device you can. Then we can all stop arguing with each other about resolution and frames.
I think some people need to be careful about what they don't like because we don't know PS plans are yet.
They need to not rush this if they do. Since I game on both the competing consoles and PC this is more than welcome. Especially with cross buy and cross save. Then I can buy one game instead of 2.
I can't wait for this game! I wish I could buy it on every platform but one should be fine. To have the extra games is a bit more tempting to me then the DLC content but to each their own. Its gonna be a long wait till release.
Bloodborne did get a lot of recognition on here though. Lots of people felt it was a good game. It's just sort of niche being that it's first party so not everyone can play it and it's also a game that isn't for everyone. I own and love it but I can see why some might not like it. Especially if they didn't play it.
CDPR is in fact attending E3. I hope it's more about Cyberpunk 2077. I can't wait for this game.

It's one of my most anticipated games out. The Witcher 3 solidified that and this is going to be on an even bigger scale. I'm getting a top rig to play this game. No exceptions.
It would be awesome but I don't see it as far fetched as all that. Why wouldn't Steam want to entice a whole lot of gamers? I would be more willing to believe MS wouldn't want to lose its win 10 potential consumers.
It probably won't happen but it would be awesome if they did.
Uh.... don't 3Rd party games already get PC support? Would they just suddenly stop making games on PC because of this?
