There is a thing called an NDA. If that contains that no developer can admit to having a devkit, so they do not get pushed for specs, then they have to say they haven't received them.
I think in the development cycle, at this point in time the hardware will be finalised. It would be worrying if it wasnt with less than 12 months till launch.
It is well known that R&D on the next console starts the moment a console is launched.

It is common knowledge that all microsoft games/consoles are backwards/forwards compatible going forward.
So all games/accessories will work on xbox one, and the new scarlett. So yeah i would assume he is playing xbox one games on scarlett with possible scarlett patches to increase resolution etc, like they did with the xbox one x.

Imagine if EA had to remove all players that said/did something racist/sexist/mysogynistic they would be no game left other than a few non-league players to get in gold packs.
By all means what he did was wrong, but so many footballers have done wrong things. If your going by that standard, remove all players that make a mistake, and see what game your left with.

I did not make any comparison in "game quality" other than the fact that publishers know they can push games out early/unfinished, and then finish them over the course of their lifetime.

All i can speak of is personal experience, i didnt have 1 game that had issues like game breaking bugs on either game gear, mega drive, SNES, commodore 64, game boy even my first console the atari 2600.
All games i purchased all worked as intended
The difference is nowadays, we have the technology of updates. In the cartridge days, the game had to be bug free as there was no way to correct the code on modern cartridge consoles.
