Also no duplication of assets needed to be accessed by the CPU/GPU, assets can be stored/accessed much quicker if the the game is built with the SSD in mind.
The current speed increase is just pure loading and has no optimisation.
Maybe because the ID Tech engine is one of the best around.
And maybe because Doom is a good benchmark test for any system
"Doom needs a legit story. Not a bad game game but its overrated imo,"
Doom pioneered the first person shooter genre, overrated lol
Secret insight into the PS5 here.
The public have not seen any loading time testing on the PS5, so "The ps5's design has dedicated processors that do the work, the cpu is unburdened." is relatively a vague statement until we actually see it in action and units independently tested by reviewers.
Still Neo, we do not have any loading videos of games on the competitions console.
Nor have we seen the UI or which external SSD we can use
This guy, this guy gets it.
Most sense spoken in this thread
UK retailer Shopto LOL.
Game is the main UK retailer, once they have supply issues then you know something is up. ShopTo probably got around 2 consoles.
But yet they still allow to pre-order?
https://www.shopto.net/en/x...
Then again trying to pre-order results in a register your interest page.
I call fake news
So far...
@Bathyj
"This thing is coming in hot I'm sure of it"
Or maybe it is just a malfunctioning 1. There will be some on both manufacturers at launch.
I do not think anything electrical has a 100% success rate, there is always defective products, that is why they provide a manufacturers warranty of at least 12 months on everything you buy.
@darkWingsoul
"So does that mean they've only been producing consoles for about three weeks?"
No, probably this person got one out of the latest batch.
@shabz666
"Best of luck to anyone who preordered and are jumping into these systems series and ps5 day one."
Why? if you have issues, that is what is called a manufacturers warranty. I'm not worried.
But my point is, that hardcore souls fans would already be buying the PS5, even if the remake was not announced.
Me personally will not be buying next gen games at launch, i will not be sucked in to paying £70 for a game with no justification for the increase.
I was struggling getting one from Game UK, so had Argos running at the same time, Argos got my money first lol.
Really, they are touting Demon's souls as the PS5 system seller?
Hasn't the original only sold around 3 million copies worldwide? Double that for new players, so expect the remake to shift around 6 million systems (in its lifetime)?
I would say Ratchet and clank or spiderman is the biggest system seller for them, demon's souls fans would most probably be getting the PS5 anyway.
@VersusDMC
"Well the games that are day one on game pass aren't available on a rival platform..."
Incorrect, Elder scrolls 6 is on PS5, and others most probably will be.
Again, i did not mention day 1 games, you did. I will try another way to best get my point across :-
If a game is multi platform, but is part of gamepass, whether that be day 1 or not, i would rather pay for gamepass, as opposed to buyin...
@Father_Merrin
"What if Bethesda publish on PS5?"
Then PS5 gamers will be buying Microsoft 1st party games, won't they?
Here we go with Pachter who hardly gets anything correct.
Will the buyout affect PS5 sales, no
will it affect Xbox sales, yes
There you go, i could be an analyst myself
You found any yet Hakuoro?
Or are you struggling? commenting for clicks i see.....
They screwed everyone with Mass Effect Andromeda when they asked everyone to buy a comic to see what happened to the Quarian ark.
That was the last middle finger i took, not bought anything Bioware since.
@Bathyj
"Obviously all hardware has failure rates. Xbox more so than others."
You mean 1 console out of 5? the xbox 360 RROD
"I'm not basing my opinion off one overheating SSD. Dev kits were said to be delivered late. Microsoft has no games ready. They won't show anything running on the hardware. All they talk about is Gamepass.
They are obviously not prepared for this launch and are just going ...
