It's a problem with image. Sure there is money to be made, but at what cost to the family oriented business dollars they want when a bunch of people are on the news with picket signs, calling for a boycott?
Funny that one article using a teaser headline implying Sony has plans for adult content (not the case after reading) is chastising another article for misleading headlines. LOL
I think it is annoying, but not that big a deal I suppose. Too intrusive though. Makes me feel like I don't really own the hardware, but just renting it when they start putting in your face stuff like that on it, and I don't have control of what I do or don't want to see on the XMB.
I guess I will be buying this all over again for PS3 with GOTY. I was so pissed when my PS3 broke last month, because I had not backed up my save files...gonna have to start from scratch. I had all the Bobbleheads & skili books, and my character was a maxed out mofo in almost every skill. Arrrrgh.
I just hope some of these updates to the PS3 fixes freeze issues. That was the one thing that really got under my skin when playing this game. I was saving like every five minutes...
The quality level is obviously better, but not the face design. Definately something got lost in the translation.
Engineers can't blame greenpeace for using engineering specs of one type of solder in ther design when they have to use another kind in manufacturing. That would really be a case of bad engineering, or a disconnect between engineering & manufacturing departments.
Game players are such kool aid drinkers. They get into their little fanboy wars, and take sides with giant corporations instead of consumer advocates. It is nuts.
I can tell you all my last PS3 only lasted 18 months before it died, and a good friend at work had his last about the same legnth of time. We both had to pay $150 plus shipping for repair.
You all can drink the kool aid, but I am on the consumer side, and say to Sony...If your system is so reliable, put...
360 just used as a develoment system because of Microsoft seed money for game developers? Ouch. Not a good business model in the long run.
I think it is a very small minority of gameplayers that own both systems & choose what version of a multiplatform game to buy based upon graphic comparisons. So another case of "so what?" to most of us.
As far as gore goes, I think that is also a fringe concern in the game world. I for one do not factor that into a decision on buying a game. I am neither for or against it. I care more about whether the gameplay is fun.
haha, funny post. ;-)
Game sites & bloggers really obesses over stupid stuff these days. They don't talk about games anymore. They all think they are armchair CEOs for the hardware manufacturers.
I am into cars, and in no cases do you have car nuts talking about monthly sales figures of each car model. I am into music, and in no cases do you have people on forums talking about monthly sales of musical instruments or whether Gibson or Fender sold more guitars. I am into computers & IT, and I...
I suppose there is a fraction of game players that own both systems, and obsess over this stuff, but I don't think anyone else gives a damn.
Am I going to buy another console because some website said the textures looked a little better on another version? ummm, no. I am going to buy the version for the console I have, and ignore these comparison articles, like I always do.
So true. I used to work for a network hosting company, and porn sites were good customers. They make money, and pay their bills on time, unlike a lot of "legit" businesses did.
Unless someone works for one of these companies, I can't possibly comprehend consumers arguing on the side of business against having longer warranty periods. Is there some kind of cult that people join when they buy these devices? I notice the disagrees on Strike's post, and am thinking WTF? Who would disagree unless they are a beancounter for Sony.
Please don't extend my warranty Sony. I wouldn't want that. I would so much rather give you guys more money. ;-)
I had a good experience with Sony's customer service...unfortunately.
Unfortunatly because my PS3 only lasted 18 months before croaking on me while playing a movie, and costing me 150 bucks plus shipping for a repair. The thing was a dead duck. Wouldn't even start up, with a flashing red LED of death.
Sure, many will see value in that. And many will just see a $400 price tag, and move on. To each his own as they say, because it's not like they are putting all there eggs in one basket with this being the only Xbox option. So of course nothing controversial about all this.
Chuckle? I think it was freaking hilarious.
Gotta give the Japanese some props. They are much more lighthearted about a little naughtyness than activist crazed, prudish Americans.
Right now someone at Tecmo is scribbling down ideas after reading your post, haha.
Didin't like the demo...or I should say I liked some parts, and totally disliked other parts. This game has been getting a lot of press, and it seems overhyped after playing the demo and seeing some of the early (not very good) reviews.
Haha, G3TDOWN. Well if it's any consolation to you, some of us that use a PS3 can read through the dribble, and tell the difference between knowledgable gamers that use a 360 versus clueless fanboys.
