Infamous story with the way it ends is almost set up as a "prequel" to a multi game series. As soon as I finished the last boss fight, my first thought was, "Wow, I can't wait until part 2".
If MGS4 is not for the loyal fans, then I don't have a clue who else it is for. I say that because I have never played any of them before, and tried playing this game. I was about as lost trying to understand that game as if someone had kidnapped me in my sleep, and dropped me in a foriegn country that speaks another language.
I don't think it is possible to take subjective opinion out of any kind of entertainment review. You see it all the time with "professional" movie critics. For example, if someone really doesn't care for horror films, but has to review that tyoe of film for their job, it will get lower scores than someone who appreciates that genre more. be objective. Read a lot of reviews. Decide if the game is for you are not after checking it out...then have your own opinion, and don't get so worked up if someone else has a different opinion. Entertainment reviews are very subjective with people's different taste.

People have known for a while now that PS3 gave up on BC right after the first run. So there should be no confusion on what you are getting when you buy a PS3 - no BC. And nobody is forcing anyone to rebuy their old games on PSN. No one is getting shafted. It is just the way it is.
Never have, never will. Knew some folks at work that played this, and all they talked about virtual crap they collected in the game. Sounds very exciting. Not.

Minority report is actually a comical way of showing the future of human/computer interaction imo. It goes against the basic principles of efficiency in movement. It is visually interesting for a movie audience, but the wide sweeping amount of movement used is less efficient than the old fashion keyboard & mouse. Technology that makes more work for the human is bad tech that doesn't catch on.
When it comes to things like Natal, I suspect it will be popular with party games ...
fanboyism is unfortunately here to stay, because it is due to:
* vast amount of young immature people that are into the game hobby
* competitive nature of said immature buying audience
* a growing culture of feeling like anything goes with insulting people on the Internet, when you can stay anonymous while doing it
Jedi Outcast was my favorite Star Wars game. Very fun mission imo (Played it on PC)
Force Unleashed was one of the worst games I bought on PS3. The controls were sloppy as hell, which made the game more annoying than fun.
It certainly is unethical if they try to make it seem like these are difficult to hook up when advertising this service. The first step in good customer service would be to try to explain to the customer how easy it is, and advise them only to use the service if they try & fail first on their own. Stuff like this is why I call this store "Worst Buy"
It's a very sad story, and invites a lot of questions.
Who's gun? If not the kid's gun, why is it accessable? If it is the kid's gun, why no gun training? Anyone trained to use firearms knows you do not even point it at someone as a joke, because of this kind of potential mistake. And what is wrong with this kid to think real guns are toys like a game? What kind of supervision has he received in this family?

I too have had my first PS3 die before the two year mark. Same thing happend to two other people I know. I know personal anecdotal situations cannot be used to speak for trends, but the same goes for those people saying because their machine has not died it means there are no issues at all with PS3s failing at too hign a rate.
I personally have no hangups with them selling adult content on their store. But it is a difficult proposition for a business to be successful at selling games to kids and porn to adults with the same black box. That business model will not work.
Is there that many people who love this game series, but don't yet have a console, that can make a significant difference in hardware sales?
This is a sequel. People that love this series already have a console. I'm not saying people won't buy the bundle, but will it be a mad crush at the stores? Nah.
LOl, the thought that PS3 doesn't have very many good exclusives is soooo 2008.
