Manufacturers sell wholesale to retailers. Retailers sell at retail price to consumers. When products sit on the shelf too long, retailers stock less. Then the manufacturer in turn sells less to the retailers. Over a period of time, the picture is clear of end unit sales, & profit margin for manufacturer in sustained sales. Investors know this. Nobody is trying to pull the wool over anyone's eyes. Only myopic fanboys get their panties in a wad over it.
The difference here between the PC world and if done on a Sony console:
On the console, Sony would have control of standards. They could esnure that everything is coordinated with game devs so it does not harm customers.
On the PC - no central control. Software & hardware makers do their own thing on more general standards, without concern of current PC owners.
In these cases, disagrees are seen as "idiot detectors"
Funny that positive news for gamers is always turned into negative debates. Gamers are silly these days. And petty. And annoying. And classless.
Don't knock until you try it, I always say.
I know that is a strange concept to today's generation of gamers. Because it seems that most people on this site that comment negatively about games don't seem to be the ones actually playing them.
It's not weight so much, but rather effects of air resistance that is not programmed into the game. Weight in the virtual world is relevent to how the car feels while in contact with the track. The cars feel right on the track.
Skizelli - I get the point you are making about this not being likely in the real world.
A car like a Veyron is going to flip if it gets airborne like that, being heavier in the rear end. At the very least, if not flipping, it will come down so hard on the rear, that it would crash & burn. The launching in the air is realistic. The game is not simulating the effects of air resistance on the front high point of the car as it flys through the air.
But i...
True that. The physics feel real at that spot. But the poor Veyron would be in the scrap heap after landing in real life.
LOL, I know that track oh so well....gotta watch yourself with those 1,000+ HP cars on the crest of that little jump or it turns into a very big jump.
Fry Cry 2 earned not getting bigger sales on it's own merit. It had a lot of flaws IMO - not glitches - but what I think were poor design choices that sucked the potential for more fun right out of the game.
story/character motivation - poor
having to stop randomly & take medicine - annoyinng & pointless
No fun loot to find in this vast place to explore - blowing it
Enemies respawning minutes after clearing checkpoints - enough already...
To each his/her own, as they say.
SP is still popular because a lot of people like the story aspects of games, and the old school challenge of beating the challenges the game makers put into the game as a solo activity.
For me, online is not very interesting, because I get bored playing with anonymous people, and my good friends aren't into gaming as much as I am.
ND are sitting pretty, even with this exclusive platform franchise only on PS3. They will have books, movies, all kinds of stuff coming at ya with Uncharted. They are making mega bucks off of this thing.
chills + spine
Just this much of a teaser causes that reaction to me. These games are soooooo good.
Haha, Fallon is such a game nerd. Gotta love it.
Love the look of the desert setting for this next game. I'm already excited about it.
"Overrated game" articles are low hanging fruit for lazy people to write about games. Pointless opinion pieces. Nobody gives a f*ck about one writer's opinion of what games they like or dislike.
You are only in the minority when talking to people on game forums with no real work experience, lol.
Try going into a work environment and convince people this would be more efficient than clicking a little button on a mouse that you only move a few centimeters to point at objects.
Tony Hawk's name isn't going to draw gamers into a skateboard game, nor would it push them away if they hadn't made some bad games recently. But now his name = bad video game
This is just me, but I think games like this have lost touch with the basics that made them fun. Use a regular controller. Have lots of courses to choose from that you unlock. Lots of upgrades. Good graphics. Lots of tricks that are easy to figure out how to pull off, and mix/mash up. Good ...
Let's get real. You are never going to see an office of people waving their arms around while they work with a computer, like a fictional sci fi movie minority report.
Try doing that for 8-10 hours a day, like I spend in front of a computer. Yeaaah riiight. Thought so. Companies would be paying for disability claims.
Ergonomics my friends, ergonomics. This demonstration is the opposite of that.
Apparantly the boss didn't authorize the easter egg. Don't piss off the boss by goofing off at work. LOL.
